Why can't Labor keep the same leader for a term?
Sep 4th, 2013 at 12:49pm

Why can't they keep the same leader, even for just one term? The Coalition won four elections, from 1996-2007, and we had the same PM for the duration of those four term, with John Howard. Labor has been in for two terms, and they couldn't keep the same leader for either of those two terms. Why is this? Why is there no leadership stability? How do we know that, if Labor is elected this Saturday, they won't get rid of the elected leader again, and put in someone new? In fact, if anything, this would be expected.

Because they are incompetent.

Yet the coalition has been in the wilderness for the last two terms because of the little criminal. If he had handed over power when it was obvious that his stint was up, things would of been better for the dark side.

Not changing your war criminal cost you lot dearly.

Certainly what they rejected was the hysterical claim made by the Coalition that they were headed towards a carbon tax.

Your response was not relevant, though, and as such, you really didn't answer.

In 2006 - Labor was heading for oblivion again which is why they had a leadership challenge from Rudd

Rudd's style of campaign was unprecedented ie he was able to move people attention away from traditional political focus like the economy and debts

Instead they focused on extreme left social issues
(1) Saying Sorry
(2) Ratify Kyoto
(3) Abolish Pacific Solution

In 2013 - people realised they were stupid to focus on those extreme left issues

This is why the Greens will be smashed at this election

Labor will also need to re-cast itself to the middle road

Right now - a vote for Labor is a vote for Greens

Relevant ... yes it is. Liberals suffered the deep wilderness for two terms ... and are only exiting now because of a weak labor party.

They were in the wilderness because of not dumping the little war criminal when his time was up.

Conservative in nature, costs big time.

Labor changing leader saved them seats and so less time in the wilderness.

Meanwhile conservative, don't learn the lesson on offer.

Well Rudd will be replaced in a week's time - assuming there are enough MPs left to choose an alternative from!
