Doug Cameron having a whinge
Sep 4th, 2013 at 10:09pm

Doug Cameron seems extremely upset by the scathing assessment of the ALP (and in particular, Kevin Rudd) given by Roger Corbett, the chief of Fairfax and member of the Reserve Bank board. Mr Cameron wants to see Mr Corbett resign over his comments. That seems a bit extreme to me, but Mr Cameron insists that this is what should happen because, "He should not be there when he's running an agenda for the Liberal party. He has been absolutely deceitful and he should resign."

Sorry Doug, but are you upset that someone has voiced an opinion less than complimentary about your party and boss, or are you upset about the fact that the boss of Fairfax - a left leaning publication - has criticised your boss and your party? Or is it both? Did you forget the Daily Telegraph throwing its weight behind Rudd in 2007? It's a free world, Doug. That's what your boss said himself of Corbett's criticism. Mr Corbett is entitled to express his views, whether you like it (or them) or not. Besides that, nothing Mr Corbett said was untrue. Time to pull your head in and concentrate on updating your resume, Doug. After all, you'll be needing it after this weekend!

I thought he was pathetic.... what a moron I am surprised he lowered himself to come out like that...

now they all have to be vetted and tongue tied... not allowed to have an opinion...

isnt it amazing... now we know what he will say if Abbott tries to pull that one on...

even rudd said he was allowed to have his own opinion...

what a goose..

He's right to be.

Corbett is a smack-knuckle par excellence.

Cameron is a better man than Corbett will EVER be.

Mr Corbett could of stated he is a member of the Liberal Party and that he was electioneering for Mr Abbott.

There again it would be embarrassing to be a conservative.

You mean like those who oppose Abbott on here shouldn't have the right to their opinions?

Why the smack do you lot support the Right being able to say anything they like, but the Left being
silenced of any and all opposition or dissent?

That's called totalitarianism, and the Right are past-masters at it.

Neo-Fascist, Nationalistic GRUBS!

Why should he publicly state his political inclinations? If he should be forced to, then why not me or you? Are you going to call the local newspaper tomorrow to put forth your political views? Grow up! Corbett is entitled to have a view AND to express it, regardless of whether you agree with his view or not.

He should have been FORCED to, considering that was EXACTLY what he was doing.

It should have been followed by the little "Spoken by Roger Corbett on behalf of the Naz... oops, Liberal Party' disclaimer.

No, he isn't, according to them. Because he's Labor...  no other reason.

Just like Murdoch's allowed to have a voice in this election, but Get-Up is not.

Or righties can have an opinion on here, but anyone not blindly liberal cannot (without being abused for it).

It's the Liberal Way... *SPIT!*

Wow, you totally miss the point. Cameron is trying to silence Corbett for voicing his opinion, as is his right in our free society. Not just silence, but drive him out of his job. I'm not trying to silence Cameron - no one is. I'm just trying to point out the utter stupidity of Doug's hissy fit. It's apparently okay for a person to make public their views on the ALP and Rudd - as long as it's favourable, it would seem!

It is Doug Cameron's opinion that Corbett should resign ... is he not entitled to that opinion?

So Corbett is a Liberal Party hack who trades on his position as a reserve bank board member to make political commentary.

He should resign from the reserve bank immediately.
