Seriously, you couldn't vote for that big fat tub of lard could you?...another Snake Oil Salesman...At least Rudd is a good Snake Oil Salesman..Clive Palmer is just a waste of space.

Do your Country a favour and give Abbott a mandate..we don't want the fringe loonies running the joint.

If I wanted to do the country a favour, the LAST person I'd be giving a mandate to would be Abbott.

For what it's worth, I would much rather have someone from Palmer's party in Parliament (either house) than someone from One Nation.

Red must be doing well, all those cheques from Liberal HQ rolling in.

Palmer is very entertaining and deserves a place.

Clive gives conservative minded people an alternative as Abbott is not everyone's cup of right wing tea, in fact by any measure he is more socially progressive then Howard/Costello.

He seems to get away with being a nutter.

If the next evolution of his party moves on from this ...... he could easily double his voter base, especially if Abbott does not deflate the guy. I doubt Abbott would want to attack him slush fund style like he did to one nation. this guy does seem cashed up. the Libs may have a big problem with this party, also the nationals.

He will do exactly what One Nation did before him.  Arrive on the scene with a splash and then when people listen to the people they elected they will be appalled. They will lsee just how simple and ill-equipped they are for parliament and in 2016 the party will get 0.1% of the vote assuming Palmer hasn't gotten tired of it and thrown it all away - which is a strong possibility.

Yeas, it will be very interesting to see what comes from the momentum Clive has presently generated.  Assuming he maintains personal interest for a nano-second beyond this election (and there is every reason to believe he will ~ he has always been a political animal) the next test will be the Qld State Election, and like Pauline, he will make a huge splash there.  He has different issues from what Pauline had.  Clive owns PUP, not one Member has actually paid Membership fees ~ they all have been waived, and there is presently zero Member contribution to Policy.

Pauline had to struggle about control, and the Membership eventually imploded.

Clive has to morph away from the present iron grip if PUP is to have a long term future.

It will soon be called the United Australia Party, as Clive has already made public announcements that once this election is over, he will initiate the necessary legal proceedings to regain a right to use that name, something the AEC denied him for now. He wisely decided to defer that shitefight until after Saturday.

Whether Clive is willing/able to hand over control to his Members will be the crunch moment.  Unless he does in reasonable time, many will wave goodbye to Clive.

Good luck with that.  I'll back Clive's slush fund any day.

He will continue to lose the UAP fight as it was the name of a former political party.  He might have lots of money but the AEC has more AND law on its side.

I wil bet that after PUP  fails to win a single lower house seat (as it will) and  senate seat fails or is not in the balance of power than he will lose interest and move on.  See how successful PUP will be with literally zero finances.  Again, it is the One Nation example all over again.

If he can keep just one Con-alition member out, that's all good by me.

In this case, the less the merrier.

No....it is completely the opposite of One Nation.  Pauline did not have the cash to own it.  Clive owns PUP.

So you hate people with extra kilograms and think they should be excluded from the democratic system.

Very telling of you.

Didn't the Labor(/Greens) Government call for an investigation into a 'fat tax' back in May??

And Bob Brown as in favour of a 'fat tax' back in 2011..

What does Clive Palmer stand for?

What are his policies?

Where are they?

Apart from 30 second inconclusive grabs I see nothing.

Come on Palmer supporters provide the links for the detailed Policies of Palmer, I want to see them...really want to see.

This bloke is blowing smoke up everyone's arse and 6% of you are buying it...laugh out loud Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

cash was NOT ON's problem.  its problem was credibility.  it won 11 seats in the state parliament and lost every single one next election. why? because they were really, really stupid people way out of their depth.  People cringed when they spoke and PUP is no different. Dumb people with no political experience.
