Pansi, I disagree

I visit a ton load of online fora and also keep an ear open wherever I go

Most people do know who they are NOT going to vote for, just as they know who'll they'll vote in

They might know or care about their generally useless local candidate, but they know which party they want and they'll grab How to Vote cards on the way in, as usual

whether or not there is a significant portion of undecided up until election day - there is no reason to think that they won't end up splitting in accordance to current national trends anyway. Or in other words, even if there are 20% still undecided, the most likely scenario is that 53% of them will vote coalition, and 47% will vote labor (after preferences) - making not a damn difference to the election outcome. Labor seems to be pinning their hopes on the bizarre logic that they will all end up voting for them.

Maybe you should have all stopped and read the Australian link.  They actually say the exact opposite of green_weirdo.

current polling suggests that the Greens will LOSE their balance of power.  So rather than win an additional seat they are likely to lose at least one and possibly two.

But stay tuned for tomorrow when Green_liar starts a thread titled "Abbott to lose the election' and 'Greens to hold balance of power in lower hous'

It will be almost as entertaining as the telecast except the telecast will be factual.

I think they are on the nose in Tassy..

can you explain how they can make a call on how the senate will end up?...

is it to do with the polls an d do most people vote for the party rather than individuals??..

if any one is like me the senate is so confusing.. and every man and his dog seems to be allowed to run..

I thought I would give it a go voting for individuals... but again that depends on the time I have...

it is certainly by far the most likely outcome.  It is rather a stretch to imagine that the current undecideds are at significant variance to the rest.  From past polls that I recall, the undecideds voted very closely to everyone else.

Your probably right Gandalf but what if the highest proportion of undecided voters are in fact disaffected labor voters who are more likely to split back to labor at the last minute then do the unthinkable and vote coalition.  Just a thought

Please make it so! Also Faehrmann in NSW. Green female politicians, like Milne, Hanson-Young, Faehrmann and Bandt have to be the most irritating politicians.

Looking at the graphics and the oz has already given Cate a senate seat.
