Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has been accused of using fake endorsements in a political flyer to save his local seat of Griffith.

The brochure titled 'What locals say about Kevin Rudd', features Griffith residents quoted as saying positive things about the Prime Minister.

According to News Corp, one featured local, Paulla Millar, is a New Zealander and could not vote for Rudd anyway.

"They have put out something that is untrue and now they have egg on their faces," she said.

Mr Rudd faces a stiff contest to save his seat from LNP candidate, former Australian Medical Association President Bill Glasson.

Published polls have varied in the seat, with some showing the Mr Rudd may follow John Howard in losing his seat while a sitting Prime Minister.

Mrs Millar said she had visited Mr Rudd's office, but only to ask about how to become an Australian citizen.

In the pamphlet, she is quoted as saying, "Kevin has always stood up for us. That's why we're voting for him." Mrs Millar denies ever saying those words.

Mrs Millar said what she actually said was taken out of context and that she wasn't politically aligned.

Dance teacher Ann Boon was surprised to see her family photo in the flyer, and declared she never gives away her voting intentions.

"They didn't ask me that, and I probably wouldn't say whether I was or not," she said.

"My mother told me never, ever tell anybody who you vote for, and I have followed her advice all my life."

Australian Electoral Commission lawyers will examine the pamphlet, however Mr Rudd's office claims it has recordings of what Mrs Millar said.
