Fisher.

Slipper has been trounced but the LNP's Mal Brough looks precarious with 76.52% of the vote counted as at 12.39 am today.

Brough has                                  28,010
Gissane (ALP)                              13,519
Katter Party                                   1,944
Greens                                          4,824

PUP's Bill Schoch                          11,535

So, because Katter and the Greens have preferred PUP, Bill Scoch will leap frog the ALP's Gissane.  The ALP have preferenced PUP, so if all preferences go according to How to Vote (yeas, I know they won't) PUP's Bill Schoch will win.

Given there will be preference leakage, it is going to be mighty close, and I'm going with Palmer's gut feel that PUP's Bill Schoch will win.

Amazing if that happens.  Both Sunshine Coast seats (normally rock solid LNP) could be Kennels!

Brough doesn't deserve to win .... but that's OK if he does, I'll spend the next 3 yrs asking Cods why they preselected someone knowing he was a crook

amazing.....what did he steal?????supporting a mate isnt a crime in ACT...but stealing from poor people IS...we must live in different countries....I WISH. Roll Eyes

Brough will win Fisher quite easily. Palmer looks set for Fairfax, but I wouldn't say it's a certainty just yet. The Coalition will keep Solomon (my electorate). Also, we should get Lingiari, Capricornia and Petrie. It will take a few days to know for sure though, many seats are in doubt.

I detest acknowledging your existence, because I regard you as a lunatic, idiotic attention seeking troll.  But, this is one I can't ignore.  Care to tell me how Brough can win, given those numbers I have posted (at 2.17 pm. ^^^^^)

Why am I a lunatic? Because I disagree with you? You think anyone who isn't a lefty is a lunatic.

At last count, Brough has 60% of the 2pp.

You are a lunatic for many reasons including because you pluck figures out of your arse.

Those figures I posted are the most up to date, and you are ignoring the preference flow.  Piss off.

If Brough does scrape home...............

Yeas, you can ask cods that, but it won't be for long.  Even if Mal survives the Ashbygate scandal , there is a much bigger and far more threatening black cloud above Brough ~ Clive Palmer's defamation action against him.  Clive is claiming about $800,000, but that is not really Brough's problem which is costs.

If Brough loses (and on what I know from the detail which I have followed) he will............the costs will be astronomical, and Brough will be bankrupted..............meaning, he will no longer be eligible to be a MHR.

Bye bye, Mal.  It's only a matter of time.  Now,  or soon enough.

Smiley

not at all the Liberal Party will pay his court costs if any..... Roll Eyes

keep wishing palmer will take every one who looks sideways at him to court......he looked like someone who had changed his way of thinking on that score .. yesterday...LOL...

maybe he realizes taking everyone who doesnt like him to court is a bit risky .. I am almost positive he has skeletons in his cupboard... he just looks the type..

no, he's retained pretty comfortably.

Labor almost certainly won't lose any seats in QLD. Apparently the polls were completely warped by the Palmer factor - who is currently getting around 12% - which no one predicted.

Also pleasant surprises for labor in western Sydney. The real killers have been Victoria and Tasmania. Soloman in the NT may be the one gain for labor.

Best news so far - Bandt looks set to retain Melbourne  Smiley

Clive predicted it.

PUP is now an outside, yes ~ outside chance in Fisher, the seat adjacent to Clive's Fairfax.

Fairfax and Fisher, two of the jewels in the Qld LNP Crown!  Love it.

Look out for PUP Campbell Newman!

What do you think of Palmer, Aussie?

He's a complex bloke, not to be taken lightly or dismissed as a buffoon.  Has 'visionary' like ideas, and is willing to stump up his own cash to back himself, and them.  I have met him, and I have seen him 'perform' live on several occasions.  He knows how to deliver a prepared mantra, just like Abbott does.

He is loyal and/but demands it in return.   For example, I did an afternoon shift at a booth for him today, and when I arrived, PUP had more than was required to adequately man the place, and one bloke had been there in the blazing sun for 6 hours.  He had no means of transport back to where he was staying, so I offered to drive him.  Turns out he was the Under 19 Coach for a Southport Rugby Club (Gold Coast).  Their U19s were not in final contention so the entire Team (and Officials) were bussed up to the Sunshine Coast by Clive to assist at Polling Booths.  He gave them all free accommodation at his Resort for two nights, and invited them all to his 'win lose or draw' piss-up which is going on right now.  I asked the obvious question - why?  'Well, Clive throws us a bone every year, and he asked us for help at the Booths."  "Why does he throw your Club a bone?"

"It's his old Rugby Club from his playing days!"

PUP has a future, but it will be a difficult transition from what it is now, to what it needs to be for further and continued success.

Having very long pockets obviously helps.

deep pockets would appear to be the ONLY think PUP has going for it.  What happens when Palmer gets bored and decides to go build the Hindenburg or Titanic or... whatever?  Pup evaporates and is gone overnight.

it is an interesting outcome, but it would be hard to see it as even remotely fair.  If PUP had a brain (who am I kidding!!!) they would have preferenced their natural colleagues the LNP.  But Palmer is certainly a crazy bugger.

PUP did preference the LNP in Fisher, but their preferences will not be distributed if they get ahead on the preferences of the others + the ALP.

As for 'crazy,' well............hard to argue given that Palmer did direct his first preference to the LNP ...... to Mal Brough ~ who he is suing for defamation.  Work that out!
