Bill Shorten & the GG
Sep 10th, 2013 at 1:53pm

If Bill shorten becomes ALP leader . . . .It's a big if because he doesn't seem to be able to decide. He was the same when it came to dumping Gillard. He hummed and hummed, will I or won't I. He seems a bit indecisive for a party leader.

But, if he does become leader, how is it going to stand with his mother-in-law in Government House?
The PM has the right to expect any discussions with the GG will be in confidence . . .and I'm sure they will be.
But what about the perception? Is the GG going to sever relations with her daughter and son-in-law so as to remove any possibility of an accidental slip of the tongue?
It's a question that has to be asked?
Simplest way is for Abbott to immediately request the Queen to replace the GG with someone without a conflict in family relations.

I am not sure if this is a real problem if Shorten were to lead the ALP whlist they are in Opposition - if they were in Government I am sure it would be!  Perhaps that is why they chose the return of a recycled Rudd for the final stages of the last tenure rather than electing shorten and the risking the conflict of interest.

Personally, I can't hack Shorten.  I watched him when he was a union boss and attending the Beaconsfield Mine disaster.  The way he acted, and the way he abused the Mine Management  - who were genuinely trying to do the right thing was a public disgrace.

I would hope they give him the leadership  and closer to the next election bump him off for Albanese

The things you hope for him are far more kind than the things I hope befall him

I have more an issue the guy cheated on his wife with the GG's daughter.

If he' has no issue cheating on someone he allegedly loves, think what he would do for the country who he doesn't know....

It's become my suspicion that these serial cheats

are really attempting to conceal the fact they're gay

In his case, most people doubt the sanity of any man or woman who'd let him near them

I doubt its an issue for Abbott.  I think he has enough respect for Ms Bryce to not bother about this.

I think the forces for good are putting a dirt file together on Bill Shorten. It is alleged he got his PA into trouble as well as dabbling in a Melbourne council and his penchant for hiding people who can do him harm in the labrythine FWA.

He may change his name to Bill Sh!ttin'.

that's my thoughts on anyone who cheats on their spouse/lover.
they will do you no good either.

As bill was the dark force behind rudds stabbing, then gillards beheading, bill should resign.

albo is also bad medicine... rude as rude can be arrogant up there with the krudd....treats other members of the caucus like he has just stepped in something...

Yes its an interesting question, the GG position seems to have the stench of political appointment where at least Shorten faced the electorate....... if anything the GG should step down.

This could be another angle for the LNP to use but not sure if it would do much damage.

Perhaps he could chat to Quentin Bryce about how he impregnated his secretary, nice over a cup of tea.
