Abbott's Aboriginal tough love

Income control is condemned by the civil libertarians - but I can't remember the last time any of these civil libertarians were ever at the cold face of these problems

It is clear there are certain groups in the community that cannot control themselves therefore require intervention

Civil libertarians say they are protecting human dignity and human rights

But what dignity is there where drunken parents prefer to buy alcohol than food for their children

How many of the civil libertarians have spent time - like Abbott - in those Aboriginal communities??!!

Some of the lucky ones got to work for stolen wages. Now their communities are flooded with white man's alcohol.

I have been all over Australia, and have seen some Aborigines in a poor state, and some who are fully employed and doing quite well as productive members of the community.

The answer is not collective punishment via taking away their welfare payments.

If any quarantining takes place, it should be individually targeted - and not applied on racial grounds.

The first thing that should be done is to close down bottle shops and pubs in areas with high levels of alcohol abuse.

I felt sickened in my travels to see white people importing alcohol into outback communities and making a living off it. They are no better than drug dealers.

No, you are tarring everyone with the same brush which contradicts your above statement.

Alcohol abusers should be barred (RSA law applies). The only trouble with this is that publicans enforcing RSA regulations get branded racist when they apply this law to indigenous folk....

Was it illegal to do so? If so did you report it to the authorities? Huh

Most businesses in remote indigenous communities are owned and managed by the communities themselves.

I spend about a total of one month each year working in the APY lands on water projects..in fact much longer than the mad monks 1 week a year.
Im guessing that you have never spent any real time in remote aboriginal communities or you wouldn't be writing such crap.
