Actually I understand both are correct, it reported difficulties and turned back but ran out of petrol for its pump and foundered close to shore.

None the less, it was at all times much closer to Indonesia than Oz, but of course they wanted to be picked up by Oz crafts to get to da sugar on da table.

But still ya gotta admire the selective outrage of the luvvies, not a frigging peep over the last six years despite at best estimates about 1500 drowned.

Pathetic, you need to take a good hard look at yourselves and your moral flexibility and selective blindness.

I'm all in favour of the Grappler Party policy of onshore processing. Set 'em up in resorts and feed 'em well, employ Aussies to be their batmen, process at leisure in safety, and send all the undesirables to Afghanistan under our new Convict Colony Initiative. 50% for Japanese/Chinese tourists while on a house hunting expedition, or maybe looking for a million acre farm to buy....

Convert the resorts to old people's homes when no longer in use, retain the staff to look after THEM, develop new resorts for the ongoing flood...

Never-ending cycle of new development, safe and comfortable processing, full paying income form tourism, and ongoing use of the property.....
