why do moslems worship/venerate that black stone!
Sep 30th, 2013 at 8:18pm

I would like for a moslem to try to explain why moslems worship/venerate that black stone!

Is the moslem worship/veneration of that black stone [merely] because moslems are slavishly following the example of the 'religious' behaviour of Mohammed ?

Moslems do seem to do that, a lot!

Quote:

ISLAMIC law texts record that;

....."Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) faced the Black Stone, touched it, and then placed his lips on it and wept for a long time."
.....Ibn 'Abbas that 'Umar bent down towards the Black Stone and said: "By Allah! I know that you are a mere stone, and if I had not seen my beloved Prophet (peace be upon him) kissing you and touching you I would have never done so." The Qur'an says: "You have indeed in the Messenger of Allah a beautiful pattern (of conduct)."'
....'Ever since I saw the Prophet (peace be upon him) doing this, I have never failed to do that.'
law/fiqhussunnah/fus5_76.html#5.74b

But Mohammed did NOT worship that black stone!

Open a dictionary.

Dictionary;
idol = =
1 an image or representation of a god used as an object of worship.
2 an object of adulation

Dictionary;
adulation = = excessive admiration.

Dictionary;
venerate = = regard with great respect.

...
Prominent moslems, even today, still attend that Black Stone [in the Grand Mosque in Mecca], to adore and venerate it

BUT PLEASE NOTE, ALL MOSLEMS; THE KISSING, AND THE ADORATION OF, A BLACK STONE - SITUATED IN MECCA - IS NOT IDOL WORSHIP!!!
         Tongue

Honest!         Tongue

During the 'pagan era' of the Arabian peninsula, the Black Stone of the Kabaa [in the Grand Mosque in Mecca], was an object of worship, for 100's of years before Mohammed invented/fabricated ISLAM.

The history of the Arabian peninsula records that, the Black Stone, was a pagan object of worship.

It cannot be denied, that the Black Stone, was a pagan object of worship for 100's of years, before Mohammed's era.

And the Black Stone, remained an object of worship during Mohammed's era.

ISLAMIC texts record that Mohammed himself 'attended' the Black Stone of the Kabaa, in the Grand Mosque in Mecca.

And it cannot be denied, that the Black Stone [which is still situated in the Grand Mosque in Mecca], is still today, an object of worship/veneration by all moslems.

Why so ?

What is so alluring, to moslems, about the Black Stone which is still situated in the Grand Mosque in Mecca ?

Does the Black Stone have magical powers ?

I ask, because ISLAMIC texts record that in its presence, the Black Stone reduced Mohammed [for a prolonged period], to an emotional, weeping state.

Found on an ISLAMIC site;
Quote:
The Quran is a revelation from the Creator of this universe to all human beings. Its most important message is the Unity of God - that there is only One Supreme Being who has no partners and is not dependent on anyone or anything. He is the Creator of everything and the whole universe is in His control. He is the only One worthy of being worshipped.

Google;
Allah, "the only One worthy of being worshipped"

Ah, my dears, what is worship/veneration of prophet Yeheshua's shroud? His foreskin? Little piece of his wooden cross? His tomb?

It is a great mystery of all the worlds, isn't it.

Why does every church have a big cross at the front of the room towards which people bow in worship?

Question for Yadda:
when muslims bow towards the kaaba, do they say "in the name of God..." or do they say "in the name of the black stone..."?

The Black Stone, and the Kaaba predates the pagans. It is believed to have been built by Abraham (Ibrahim) himself. The black stone is believed to have come from heaven, and placed in the original Kaaba by an angel. Muhammad did not continue the pagan tradition of idol worship, he revived it as a place of worship for the one true God - in the footsteps of Abraham.

gandalf, Karnal, brian,

I hope that Christians would not venerate supposed holy 'relics'.

But i know that they do.

I believe that to venerate such symbols, as a 'religious act', is wrong, and if Christians choose to do such a thing, then it saddens me.

But i know that they do.

I hope that Christians would choose to worship God and his righteousness.

Isaiah 45:20
Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.
21  Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.
22  Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
23  I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.
24  Surely, shall one say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.
25  In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.

Psalms 40:1
I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
2  He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
3  And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

I can image that moslems say  "in the name of Allah..."

And i assume, that moslems do understand, what it is, that moslems choose to worship."

The Black Stone, and

the Kaaba

predates the pagans.

It is believed to have been built by Abraham (Ibrahim) himself.

gandalf,

It is believed by moslems that the Kaaba was built by Abraham and his son Ishmael.

But gandalf, what is the basis of that belief, AND THAT 'RELIGIOUS' ASSERTION, by moslems ?

Is the construction of the Kaaba recorded in the ancient Hebrew scripture, which is the earliest record of Abraham's life ?

No.

Is the construction of the Kaaba recorded within the complete and 'inerrant' Koran, which is ISLAM's foundation text [a text reputedly given to Mohammed by Allah, through the agency of an angel].

No.

So what is the basis of this belief, AND THAT 'RELIGIOUS' ASSERTION, by moslems [that the Kaaba was built by Abraham and his son Ishmael] ?

There is no firm basis for such a belief.

[Like so many aspects of 'Allah's perfect religion'....] Such a belief is simply, a moslem 'religious relic', a moslem religious tradition, which has been asserted by moslems, for many centuries.

It is sad, that so many people choose to ['publicly'] declare that they believe, the many things which ISLAM asserts.

And often for no other reason, than because of their [personal] fear, of other men.

Tyranny.

ISLAM is a very worldly, secular, political tyranny.

A deception, dressed up, as a virtuous religion, nothing more.

"And i assume, that moslems do understand, what it is, that moslems choose to worship."

Matthew 4:8
Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9  And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10  Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Not only do they venerate such objects, Y, many are healed by their  proximity to them.

It is not the objects doing these healings, friends, it is Gud.

Brain, you have no right to criticise Yadda, or anyone else, remember?

Anyway, Christians venerating (not worshipping) the relic of Jesus makes sense because these are object like mementos from a person regarded as god. Yes, there were enough splinters of the holy cross left around Christendom to re-create sevaral dozen holy crosses but that's secondary and a different kind of question. At least they served to make a connection and a memorial link to person who features everywhere in Christian. It is all about Christ.

The black rock is a black rock with pagan origins. Nuffin' to do wiv islam. It's supposed to be a rock from heaven, sent to show Adam and Eve where to build an altar.Mohammed supposedly kissed it so now it's holy.  D'oh!

Brian and other reflex pouters and jeerers should recognise the mild ridiculousness of worshipping/venerating what is essentially a pet rock and be able to say so. But know. Their minds turn IMMEDIATELY to some other ridiculous thing of the Christian or Jewish persuasion, lest they have to actually recognise - or go forbid! criticise or ridicule - something silly the Muslims do (like having a collective pet rock).

Did somebody say spineless??
