Coffee could lead to licentiousness

In Kuwait, mixed-gender coffee shops are a ‘menace’

Al Arabiya

Kuwaiti lawmakers have called for the closure of mixed-gender coffee shops where men and women interact together and smoke shisha in Kuwait city, the UAE-based Gulf News reported on Sunday.

The MPs are calling the coffee shops “immoral” and a “menace” to society, according to Gulf News.

Three Kuwaiti ministers could be interrogated by parliament if the places are not closed within one month, warned the lawmakers.

“We will not hesitate to grill the competent ministers if these immoral coffee shops are not shut down within one month,” MP Askar al-Enezi said, quoted by local media, reported Gulf News.

Enezi also took part in a rally on Saturday to push for actions against the coffee shops especially in the al-Jahra area, where other MPs, residents and religious figures accused the shops of promoting vice.

“Such coffee shops have no room in our society as they violate our very traditions and customs as well as the spirit of the Constitution which stipulates the state's responsibility in maintaining the values of the family considered as the core of the community and in protecting the youth,” Gulf News quoted him as saying.

As-salam alaykum brothers and sisters. It is a well known fact in polite Islamic society (an oxymoron for sure) that consumption of coffee leads to immoral behaviour. I myself was raped by 4 women after what I thought was an innocent visit to Mo's Coffee Lounge and Emporium. Four women poured coffee into me and then when I was having trouble trying to control my raging erection they took it in turns to rape me.

I think the only sensible thing to do is ban coffee. The frothing-at-the-mouth lunatics in our religion will find some passage in the Kran that says coffee is evil. Islam is that mad and its that madness that attracted me to the alleged religion in the first place.

Inshallah. Remember that Halla never allowed coffee to pass his lips.

Funnily enough, the same claim was made about Coffee Houses in 18th century England.  Hot beds of licentiousness apparent.  Often had brothels attached to them.   It is one reason why the UK determinedly turn to Tea drinking in the 19th century according to one historian I'm aware of.  The respectable ladies didn't like their men going off to drink Coffee and consorting with naughty ladies of negotiable virtue.  Tea could be brewed easily at home.  Much better for English family life!   Grin

Good ad hominem response there, Soren.  Is it the best you can do in response to a factual post?  Its obvious I know more history than you do.  How does that make me a, " pathologically squishy bedwetter, Brain. Just stupendously wet and reflexively spineless"?   Roll Eyes

I agree.  Seems rather pointless when every second thread is about Islamophobia.   Roll Eyes

You silly twit. Making excuses IS a judgement, you silly, befuddled old fool.

You are ready to excuse today's stupid Muslims on the basis of oblique innuendo about 18th century English customs but you would rather die in a ditch that  judge today's stupid Muslim practices by today's Western standards.
You are a strictly one-way anachronist,  Brain.  Hence your richly deserved "reflexive squishy bed-wetting boob" title.

I made no excuses, I merely drew a parallel, nothing more with an interesting historical tidbit about 18th century England.  You appear unable to understand that something might be said that is simply "Quite Interesting", Soren.   Roll Eyes

What should we replace it with? How about we have an "interesting hairstyles of 2013" or "when to split and re-pot orchids". We live in an OPEN and free society where everything should be examined by those who are interested.

Examined?  Muslims suffer something more akin to Open-Heart Surgery, daily here, than a mere "examination" of their views/beliefs/attitudes/religion.   It is incredibly intrusive and more often than not drive by prejudice and Xenophobia than genuine interest and it's invariably conducted by butchers, than highly trained surgeons!   Cheesy Grin Cheesy Grin Cheesy Grin Cheesy Grin

Islam is more than just a religion it is a political ideology that governs in parts of the world like the Islamic republic of Iran.

Iran is ruled by Islamic law administered by the Mad Mullah's so why should any political system that governs be above criticism in a politics forum, do you think Islamic rule should be above any criticism, do fascists tolerate critics, does Iran execute critics of the ruling Islamic regime by declaring them an enemy of god, why do you support a fascist political ideology like Islam?

Was the Islam section of this forum created by an aussie muslim called Abu Rashid who is also the absent moderator?

No, that is Islamism.
Quote:
is a set of ideologies holding that "Islam should guide social and political as well as personal life".[1] Islamism is a controversial neologism, and definitions of it sometimes vary (see below). Leading Islamist thinkers emphasize the implementation of Sharia (Islamic law); of pan-Islamic political unity; and of the selective removal of non-Muslim, particularly Western military, economic, political, social, or cultural influences in the Muslim world that they believe to be incompatible with Islam.[2] Some observers suggest Islamism's tenets are less strict, and can be defined as a form of identity politics or "support for [Muslim] identity, authenticity, broader regionalism, revivalism, [and] revitalization of the community".[3] And following the Arab Spring political Islam has been described as "increasingly interdependent" with political democracy.[4]

Comparable movements in other religions are Zionism, "Political Christianity" and Hinduism or "Hindu Chauvinism".  All are the political aspirations of the religion.  Islamism is not unique.

So, you'd have real problems coping with Communism then?  What about the dictatorships which brook no criticism of their leader and their political movements?  Again, the Islamic Republic of Iran is not unique in this regard yet your bigotry ensures you single it out because of it's religious basis.   Cheesy Grin Cheesy Grin Cheesy Grin Cheesy
