Exactly. All it took was an election. Thank heavens the grown-ups are back in charge.

They are stopping, they are stopping, and they will be stopped.

Well you explain big daddy why there's a change of government and people smuggling ceases. Instead of picking hows about explaining. You can't or won't though.

I most certainly will. These hideous boat people are scared of Mr Abbott, there are no two ways about it. Mr Abbott has reformed them and made them see the error of their ways.

Instead, they've changed into plane people.

So what exactly has the government done to "stop the boats"?

Picked a nifty slogan ?

OPERATION SOVEREIGN BORDERS

What a marvellous title. Mr Abbott, you see, means business.

Yes, leftards, Australia is open for business again.

You were right when you said they are scared. They are scared of blowing their money and not getting citizenship. They are not hideous, just economic opportunists.

I say to the "progressives" or the "progressive left" (it used to be easier to just say "the commos") . . .I say to you good people, why don't you advocate what Sweden is doing.
Anyone that can get to Sweden from Syria will be given asylum & then permanent residence with family reunion. Good luck with that one.
So why don't you lefties advocate that for anyone that
can get here from anywhere?
Imagine how well you'll sleep at night . . for a while anyway.

Other than limiting information exactly what has the coalition changed?
As far as I know they are running Labors policy.

Happy to be educated, so post away.

Umm, no. Labor was vehemently against offshore processing from day one of Rudd's first stint as PM. Hence his dismantling of the Pacific Solution. They only partially and tentatively re-introduced offshore processing in a half-arsed way when they finally realised that their way was doomed to fail. Even then, they clung to the idea that offshore processing was wrong. So no, this isn't Labor policy. It's long-held Coalition policy. Consider yourself educated...

OOOHHH, so we just concentrate on something that happened 6 years ago.

We ignore the fact that LABOR has reopened Manus & Naru & now PNG.
We just ignore that any boat people are now processed offshore as per LABOR
We just ignore that people arriving by boat now will not be resettled in Aus no matter their status, again as per LABOR policy.

(Please don't confuse the above with praise for Labor, they are frankly worse than you smacking racist losers of the coalition, at least you wear your fears on your sleeve.)

We just ignore EVERYTHING & say

You leftards need to understand just how dangerous these people are. They are a threat to our way of life. They are invading our borders, spreading disease and raising our risk of terrorism. Some of them even eat curry.

Rudd's leftard policy of blowing boat people's money and not giving them citizenship is finished. Mr Abbott will see to that.

Mr Abbott's policy is to buy the boats and send them back. Actually, maybe that's more like hire-purchase, but it's irrelevant.

They are stopping, they are stopping, and they will be stopped.

Its not a question of no faith, its a question of no brains.  Grin

In Labor's case, it's both. They have no brains and no faith that offshore processing would work. They've been proven wrong on that one - not once, but TWICE! First by Howard & now by Abbott. Sadly, the ALP and Lefties will NEVER learn...

Much rather have the boaties than the xenophobes who oppose them.

Yeah? Are you sure that the billions of dollars wasted on running those detention centres and Centrelink payments to these economic migrants couldn't be put to better use on Australians in need of help instead? Like more doctors or nurses or better roads, etc? Does wanting to help my own people first make me a xenophobe? Does wanting my government to decide who comes here make me a xenophobe? Does wanting to keep out previously eradicated diseases such as TB make me a xenophobe? No, it just makes you naïve and ignorant.

not sure how you came to that conclusion ... 500 asylum seekers since sept. is not 'no boats'.

Labor only reopened processing centres in neighbouring countries because Christmas Island was at breaking point. People were being processed offshore prior to Rudd becoming PM but when he reinstates offshore processing, he's our saviour? Give me a break! Did you bump your head today and forget that the last Coalition government had a policy of not resettling everyone in Australia? Labor did a spectacular backflip on this issue, a very big ME2 in terms of policy and yet STILL couldn't get the same results that Abbott and Morrison are now getting. Clearly, we're going to have to drip-feed this to you as your obviously incapable of taking in facts in large doses.
