Labor only reopened processing centres in neighbouring countries because Christmas Island was at breaking point. People were being processed offshore prior to Rudd becoming PM but when he reinstates offshore processing, he's our saviour? Give me a break! Did you bump your head today and forget that the last Coalition government had a policy of not resettling everyone in Australia? Labor did a spectacular backflip on this issue, a very big ME2 in terms of policy and yet STILL couldn't get the same results that Abbott and Morrison are now getting. Clearly, we're going to have to drip-feed this to you as your obviously incapable of taking in facts in large doses.

Like I said teaspoon, regardless of who 1st thought of the idea,

1) Labor stopped offshore processing
2) Labor re introduced offshore processing

Not with Mr Abbott's support, he didn't. Mr Abbott voted with the Greens to block offshore processing.

Take that, leftards.

Only Mr Abbott can stop the boats, you see.

Thank heavens the grown-ups are back in charge.

1) Labor stopped offshore processing
2) Labor re introduced offshore processing
3) Liberals never had a policy of no settlement in Australia regardless of refugee status if arrival by boat, they refused to take ALL of those on the TAMPA.
BIG DIFFERENCE
4) Tony has name changed & cut the supply of information to the Australian Public, please explain how these 2 measures slowed boats.
5) So you can thank Kevin Rudd for the slowing of boat arrival NOT Tony Abbott.

That must gall you eh Grin

Yet we had upwards of 1800 people arriving monthly under Labor. Since the month of September, barely 500. Take that!

But if it was up to Clive Palmer, we’d have more.

Take that again, leftards.

You still haven't said what Abbott has actually done to cause the decline in numbers?

Well derrrrrrrr
Kevin stopped the boats, of course arrivals have fallen.
Now if you want me to give Tony at pat on the back as John says tell us how he has done it.

Again I'll add Im not championing Rudd/Labor, he's as pathetic as Abbott, pandering to your fear and preconceptions.

My understanding is illegals are now being 'processed' VERY quickly and being flown back VERY quickly.

Under the alp all illegals were encouraged over here.
Under the Libs, none are.

processed very quickly? I don't think there is a lot of actual processing going on

they are being processed and shipped home.
It works.
a small % are coming now.

A liberal success.

One of the biggest grubs we've had in politics for many years.

Sooner the maggot's gone, the better.

That’s right, Sprint. The Liberal immigration officers have been working round the clock for no extra pay since Mr Abbott was elected. What heroes they are.

Needless to say, the leftards are all on a go-slow. Typical.

Pathetic, leftards, just pathetic

Me too, Armchair. Let’s face it, Mr Abbott doesn’t really have to stop the boats or end the budget crisis or stop the Labor waste or any of that nonsense.

All he has to do is rub the leftards’ noses in their own mess and Australia will be great again.

Thank heavens the grown-ups are back in charge.

No no, they died for their country.

There’s a big difference, you know.

Oh, for goodness sake, you people need to stop being so difficult.

As Cods says, try being grateful for once. The boats are stopping. If Scott Morrison says how it could pose a huge security risk to our country. Loose lips sink ships, after all.

STOP THE BOATS

Those who come from Sri Lanka are flown back within 48 hours. That's the policy Abbott & Morrison implemented. They're getting the message there very quickly.

Nice attempt at re-writing history. Even Labor isn't saying THEY stopped the boats. They are claiming credit for SOME of the policies, but that's all. The truth is that the boats kept on flooding in under Rudd but within weeks of Abbott becoming PM, the boats have slowed to a trickle. From 2000 a month to 500 in two months. That's a success in anyone's language and it has little or nothing to do with Labor.
