Palmer could end up becoming a national embarrassment and the punchline to a joke.  I expect him to do very badly in parliament.  I also expect him to resign after he gets bored of not being able to get his own way by bullying.

At least he may end up making the 2 majors have a good look at themselves.

Surely the cooler heads in both must be asking the question of how they are so on the nose that Australians are happily electing these sort of nut jobs over their candidates.

I would doubt they are all that surprised.  There is always an element in the electorate (eg pansi) who vote for any candidate that is not liberal or labor and for no other reason.  And then there are the complete morons who think the Palmer-esque candidate is brilliant.  They previously voted for One Nation of course.  and unsurprisingly the majority live in the state of corruption aka QLD.

The disaffected voters always exist as do the loons.  next election Palmer will lose much of his support as did One NAtion before them.  It is the same reason the Greens are shedding support at a rapid rate of knows.  As soon as minor parties start having a degree of power, they are exposed to the harsh light of criticism and analysis and by and large, fail miserably.

But in the meantime, watch Palmer agitate for laws and rulings that exist for no other reason than to promote himself and his business.

That's not quite correct, Cods!

What I have said is, as a collective bunch, they (the Pollies) have been into self-interest & short term, they have not been into the best long term interests of the whole OZ Public.
That does not mean I hate, it does mean I am clearly saying they have not done their jobs properly & they have performed poorly over quite some time!

Yes, I agree & that is what I hear from Clive & all the other pollies.
But, THEY ALSO WANT IT NOW!
Sounds just like the unions -

Cods,
What you believe, is up to you, as it is for each of us!
That said, let me restate again, for the record, I believe that most Politicians are more into short term self interest, when they should be looked at what is in the Best interest of the entire Public.
That assertion of mine covers pretty much all Politicians!
I do not hate any of them, But I will certainly criticize any & all of them, which I do.
I have certainly criticized Abbott & the Liberal MORE than Labor, in the recent past, simply because the Liberal Policy/s are likely to make outcomes much worse than they would otherwise have been under Labor, at this point in time.

As for what you may or may not have heard Pollies say, I would suggest you try reading into what they say & don't say a little more & you may come away a little better informed.

Ah, well perhaps you may need to revisit that!

People are different, they have different interpretations of very similar information and those interpretations will generally stem from their earlier development years, although some refinements will continue until later in life.

Whilst Clive may have his particular ways of making his points, which may often be based in or around the use of Money, others will send their messages via more subtle means, perhaps by planting seeds of why Palmer is doing this or that.

And, Clive with his money can employ his money well (?), by dragging things into the legal arena, because it "could" highlight some issues that some will not want highlighted and IF it gets him & "others" what they want (in the long run, Then it will be worth every penny spent & more!

Then, we have the Federal Government, who would not want to be seen to be going against a Coalition state government, But the Federal Libs are also in great need of the support of the Palmer party, to help in getting rid of the Carbon Tax, which is something that the Federal Libs will need to placate "some" big business Liberal supporters.
So the federal Libs are on the horns of a dilemma and most of their messages may be on the QT!

Clive may live to regret tossing about insults. He has yet to declare his pecuniary interests and I wouldn't mind betting that a 'discovery' team has been commissioned by the Libs to track down Clive's business interests. It will be entertaining to watch the sh!t fight.

By the way, has it been confirmed yet that Murdoch's ex-wife was a Chinese spy? That's what Clive was asserting.

Quote:
Aspiring Prime Minister Clive Palmer threw out a bunch of accusations on the Today Show this morning, in a heated interview with Karl Stefanovic.

Palmer’s accusations grew more ludicrous by the second, as a bewildered Karl struggled to make sense of what the mining magnate business owner was actually trying to say. Palmer then set his sights on the television host, repeatedly telling Karl to ‘lift his game.’

The peak of the rant? When Palmer accused Rupert Murdoch’s ex-wife Wendi Deng of being a ‘Chinese spy’ – because obviously. “She’s being spying on Rupert for years…read the truth about her!” Clive exclaimed. Yikes.

A "discovery team". So that's what the Libs call diggers of dirt these days.

OF COURSE!

As for what you may or may not have heard Pollies say, I would suggest you try reading into what they say & don't say a little more & you may come away a little better informed.

i PAY AS MUCH ATTENTION AS ANYONE ELSE..

its results that make the difference..with me

when someone says..

THERE WILL BE NO CARBON TAX UNDER A GOVT I LEAD..

thats what I WATCH..

I dont read anything into it.. except what they SAY..

I still have not heard any other pollie claim they will sue someone like palmer has done??....

If that were true then you would have posted the whole quote not just the line that allows you to claim she lied.

Remember "there will be no carbon tax under a gov I lead, but I am determined to put a price on carbon"

But I wouldn't expect the truth from you as it destroys your liar liar claim, much easier to only quote the bit that suits your rants, so who's the liar Cods?
