I cannot believe that there is not one single post in really big letters saying simply bogus thread on to boot. I guess bogus depends on bias, as too does this whole rant seem to.

I was particularly amused to learn that people in prison don't dob. Firstly what was striking was that one would seemingly allow our trustworthy inmates to set behavioural standards - that is extremely bizarre. Secondly of course was the fact that the statement was wrong anyway. Inmates do dob frequently and do not suffer as badly as is made out. It all depends on the situation, who is doing the dobbing and who they are dobbing on... I don't expect the subtle nuances of that to be understood, and by that simple lack of understanding subtly and nuance, won't be accepted. But your lack of acceptance will simply amount to demonstrating ignorance.

Bottom line is, the come out swinging thread that this is, is, as has been named, nothing more than bullying, only I would also add the word cowardly. Particularly given we are all able to hide behind the anonymity afforded us by the internet then these kinds of attacks are nothing more than cowardly.

The forum has rules, pretty simple stuff, follow them or face the consequences. The demonstrated incapacity or unwillingness to face the consequences (regardless of how moderators became aware of an infraction) says more about the OP poster and their faceless supporters than about the person who informed the moderators, if in fact that was the case.

Oh, and as to the presence or absence of moderators. Probably a flawed assumption on my part, but, I would have assumed we are all adults here, so, do some of you seriously need a moderator here 24/7 holding your hand because you lack the basic self control to exercise your own moderation as to how you choose to respond? Seriously?

The only thing the absence of moderators demonstrates clearly to me is that the rules are basically irrelevant to many posters here and, whilst they can get away with it, will deliberately ignore and breach the rules. These people need constant moderation and/or the moderators obviously need other posters to give them a heads up.

A personal pet hate is the number of threads all about the one topic. I have written about this and seen the excuses, justifications and blatant disregard for the posted guideline. Still the issue persists. I would think either do away with the guideline all together or, enforce it.

Goodness me, six pages of tears over a "dibber dobber"

Can't wait for the adults to join the forum...
