Islam teaches that women have rights that were only recently accepted in the Western such as the right to inherit, the right to own her own property, the right to choose her own husband, the right to divorce, the right to have access to children in the event of divorce, and the right to access courts.

why is it Islam teaches?

Because before Islam influenced the world, women did not have these rights in most cases.

Sensei, that is because the Admin has set it up that there is only a limited number of characters allowed per post.  If you look at the bottom middle of the post window you will see the count.  When it is exceeded, the cursor goes to the bottom and deletes what is there.   What you must do is delete some or all of the quoted text.

I know of course Sensei there is only one character allowed in your posts - you!   Cheesy Grin Cheesy Grin Cheesy Grin Cheesy Grin Cheesy Grin Cheesy Grin

If GST rises by 5%, then your income must also rise by 5%. Which means you will either become unemployed or underpaid. Choose wisely

you seem to have a particular beef with the muslim brotherhood Herb. What is the basis of this? They were actually rather moderate during their brief rule in Egypt - desperately pandering to both the US and Israel, and not doing much at all to dismantle the secular Egypt society.

It also seems hypocritical being a staunch advocate of democratic liberal values on the one hand, and a cheerleader of such a blatant crushing of democracy on the other.

Meanwhile in islamic heartland

Quote:
Women driver ban 'guards against evil'

The grand mufti of Saudi Arabia says a ban on women driving in the conservative Gulf state protects society from 'evil'.

Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah al-Sheikh, in a speech delivered on Wednesday in the western city of Medina, said the issue of giving women the right to drive should not be 'one of society's major concerns'.

The kingdom's most senior cleric called for 'the matter to be considered from the perspective of protecting society from evil' which, according to him, included letting women drive.

His comments came as activists said they had been assured by Interior Minister Prince Mohammed bin Nayef that authorities were reassessing the controversial Saudi ban on women drivers.

'Rest assured that the issue is being discussed, and expect a good outcome,' the minister was quoted as saying on Wednesday by Aziza al-Yusef, who met him along with fellow activist Hala al-Dosari.

The absolute monarchy is the only country in the world where women are barred from driving, a regulation that has drawn condemnation from the international community.

Prince Mohammed stressed that the ban was 'a matter to be decided by the legislative authority', Yusef told AFP.

Saudi Arabia has an all-appointed consultative Shura Council, with no elected parliament. The council makes recommendations to the government, but the king remains the absolute legislator.

'We expect a royal decree that gives us this right,' Yusef said.

At least 16 women were stopped by police during a driving protest day last month, and were fined and forced along with their male guardians to promise to obey the kingdom's laws.

Good to see they are following allah's and muhammad's lead: women are stupid, they are the majority of people in hell etc etc

Allowed? So women depend on that decision by authorities, they don't just decide to start driving lessons, they've got to make sure they are allowed.
Just re read your own post.

Are men allowed to drive? Should we be kind and let them drive?
Full of racism and discrimination, the lot of you, I don't believe there are any decent Muslims.
