Chimp's "abuse" for me isn't specifically directed but rather chucked around as a kind of caricature generically.
Nonetheless if you or anyone else is offended, point out where and if it's valid then he'll likely go on a holiday from here.

I've read some of his stuff and felt only the need to ask him to stick to a subject.

Is it too much to expect the standard of moderation to be UNBIASED and free of any political ideology?  Or even more unusual, to moderate consistently and according to the rules not some opinon of subjective interpretation?

Obviously it's difficult to be impartial, particularly if you like some members more than others.

If a moderator decides someone needs a suspension - they could give that member a warning beforehand so they have a chance to redeem themselves.

Banning isn't something I'd advocate as a rule - sometimes just an explanation to a person as to why there are complaints is sufficient.

Still the moderators don't appear to have time for the preliminary niceties because of the size of this board.

Should members be threatened publicly with a holiday? Maybe it could be done in private?

You can have bias in political views but you should not have bias or favouring in moderation.
It really should be completely separate.

To achieve that end, if for example I seemed in an argument on something then I shouldn't wear a moderator hat in that area - even if the other person became abusive - but to have Muso or PN maybe make that call.

There's really nothing wrong in having a political bias and a neutral moderator view and it isn't hard.

The fact I'm not online during your day probably helps give a perspective by the time of my morning.

either would be preferable to the current experience of people being suspending without being given a reason either before or after - even when asking.  it is more than pointless to punish someone for an offence they are unaware of and uninformed of.

if you can do that Andrei then judos to you.  My complaint has always been that the opposite is the case. But I will give you one warning: don't support skippy.  He is the exception to the rule.  He will start petitions to have you removed - if indeed he hasnt already and helping him when he deserves it will only make him hate you more.

I always warn by PM first, I regard banning as a last resort except in very extreme cases.

That goes on Health & Welfare, as it does on other fora on which I moderate/administer.

Longy,
you get suspended because you constantly abuse people.
