And what if Abbott does prepare a official appology to Indonesia.

Where are we then, we will still get treated with disrespect by the Indonesian people. burning our flags. they take our aid support but burn our flag.
and target Australian citizens a tourist in Indonesia that are helping their economy.

if they want a war there are plenty of Australians that would support that.

For those very naive people who think there is a grass roots reaction in Indonesia, let me tell you how it works.

Are you honestly so naive to think that the protests in Jakarta were spontaneous? - that the "protesters" were not paid by the government to burn the improvised printout of the Australian flag?

Indonesians are not easily roused. Generally they get on with life. Even if somebody blows up a bridge in the neighbourhood, they don't make a big song and dance about it.

If you want a demonstration in Indonesia, it's very easy. People will do just about anything for money, and demonstrations are organised by the government for that purpose.

What purpose? Money. That's the name of the game.

Are there spontaneous demonstrations in Jakarta that are not organised by the government? Yes. They don't last very long though. Everybody knows that.

I worked in Indonesia for a short time. When we wanted security, we hired the police. Of course we had to provide them with transport, because they didn't have any of their own.
