Recreational bikies protest anti-bikie laws in Brisbane

Recreational motorcyclists are protesting across Australia to show solidarity against Queensland's tough new anti-bikie laws.
Queensland organiser Gabriel Buckley said the new laws, aimed at criminal bikie gangs, had resulted in the harassment of law-abiding motorcyclists.

Mr Buckley said a primary concern was that the laws reversed the onus of proof for people accused of links to prescribed criminal gangs.
"Some people are being pulled over three times on their way to work," Mr Buckley said.
"You can imagine why these guys are getting impatient with the government."
Rallies have been planned in every major capital city except Darwin on Sunday, with the biggest rally expected in Brisbane.

Mr Buckley expects between 1500 and 2000 people to rally at parliament house, including recreational riders who'll be arriving in groups from Redcliffe, Ipswich and Stapylton.
The rally at Brisbane's parliament house started at 10am on Sunday.
Civil libertarians, who have described the laws as "scary", will also join the protests.
Last month the Australian Motorcycle Council launched a fighting fund to raise money for any High Court challenge against the laws.
Police and the Queensland government have previously asked recreational riders for patience amid the bikie crackdown, but conceded there would be disruptions for law-abiding motorcyclists.
