What a country Mr True Blue is proud of.  One of the poorest countries on earth and what do we Australians do; Cheat the poor people out of their mineral wealth.  Hope your very proud True Blue.  I'm sure you are.   That's what the diggers fought fr at Gallipoli

2006???????

Hang On, I'm sure we only spy under Labor & John Howard was East Timor's best friend?

At least that's what I've been told by numerous Abbott supporters here over the past few weeks.

Here's an idea/conspiracy for you.

Howard only supported independence for East Timor so he could get his hands on the oil & gas.

Had Indonesia still been in power imagine how much more difficult it would have been to steal these assets.

In fact it could have started a war, so much for doing the "Right" thing as people like to think was done.

The ex ASIO bloke that should be flying to the Hague to give evidence has been arrested.

News just in....they've cancelled his passport, so he can't go and give evidence.

I hope the Hague courts will set up a video link so he can give evidence.

It's wrong for a wealthy nation to steal from its poor neighbour, just so wrong!

I hope East Timor win the case, in spite of Abbott sabotaging the evidence.

What is of greater importance is the separation of powers.
Lawyers are supposed to have privileged communication with clients
& the law should be separated from Govt.

ASIO must have acted illegally.

I hope we get a high court ruling on this case.

A hell of assumptions. You clowns wouldn't know some was upya till they pulled out and the wind rushed in   Wink Wink

What assumptions?

Since when does one side in a court case get to smash in a law office & take all the records?

I remember Downer at the time going around saying how he wasn't about to compromise Australia's national interest for East Timor.  Turns out the "national interest" was the interests of Woodside (Australia - which has a 33% share in the project) along with its international joint venture partners ConocoPhillips (USA, 30%), Royal Dutch Shell (UK/Netherlands, 27%) and Osaka Gas (Japan, 10%). That's what the "national interest" is now days and that's who ASIS was really working for when they were bugging the ET cabinet.  How much did Downer know?  He must have known it was going on and probably authorised it.

And I remember watching 4 corners about how they wouldn't process the oil and gas on shore of Timor just so they didn't have to pay royalties and tax to the Timorese government. Timor got shafted from the deal didn't they what Sad

Alexandria Dooner is in this up to his neck !!

Yes Nail,
East Timor has been shafted.

Yes they did Bobby.

That's why it's going before an international court.

They know they are guilty as charged that's why the key witness is being held and has had his passport revoked.

This is all about Alexander Downer, his mates are leading the charge to protect him, all roads lead back to Downer, the grubbiest politician that has ever existed.

The story is headlines in the Guardian.....you'll have to look a bit harder to find it in the Murdoch press.

There is absolutely no doubt that we thoroughly did East Timor over in the oil and gas negotiations.
Downer even moved the East Timor's boundaries to Australia's huge advantage by arguing that the deep oceanic trench which happened to run much closer to East Timor than their normal boundaries should be split down the middle, giving all the advantage to Australia.
The effete little prick was proud about how he'd done it. Still would be.

Just when I thought it could not get worse.
And why is this Prime Minister shacking up at Australian Federal Police headquarters.
We have seen he will stop at nothing to get his own way. We have known for a long time he has no respect for the letter of the law. Now it seems he is happy to break the law itself.
If Abbott has indeed has caused people to brake the law he needs to be at least questioned by the relevant authorities. But he is in cahoots with the AFP.
Dangerous times.

The latest from the ABC:

Quote:
Attorney-General George Brandis has confirmed he approved the warrants to conduct the raid, but denied it was done to affect the arbitration at The Hague.

The Greens slammed the Government this morning.

"This is a very disturbing allegation and if it's true, it seems that George Brandis seems to think he's J Edgar Hoover and is able to throw warrants around like confetti," deputy leader Adam Bandt said.

"There needs to be a full explanation from our Attorney-General."

thanks Bobby

I wonder what the international tribunal at the Hague will make of Abbott when the prime witness is called and the lawyer has to say he's not available sir, he's being held by the Australian government so that he can't testify.

Like the lawyer said, he still has the evidence, just not the eye witness.

There will be an inquiry into this, there has to be.

Downer is going down!

No wonder Hockey needs the extra money, this will be costly.

Abbott can't take a trick, this coming out at the same time as the other spying incidents.

Yes Pansi,
The fascism has started so quickly under Abbott.
Lawyers offices & confidential information was once considered sacred.

They can just kick down a lawyers door & do whatever they like.

Wait till the high court hears about this.

I want to see Abbott in jail with cell mates like Chopper.

Chopper has gone Bobby.

I'd like to see a few others join Abbott in jail, not least of all war criminal Howard.
