Lets brush over the fact that each recession brings it own challenges due to how a country is placed at its time & focus on your example.

Or you can acknowledge Keatings ground work and therefore lay the lions share of glory at his feet, and be able to blame Swan/Bowen.

Costello did nothing and the floating dollar, thanks to Keating, allowed our exporters to find alternate markets and keep going. Asian Meltdown was hardly noticed here!

In a years time when unemployment has an ‘8’ in front of it and the deficit is larger than ever you might begin to see what Rudd & Co saved us from.

Airlines are a mugs game.

They cuts costs to the bone in the USA & we copy them.

When flying Buffalo to LA via Chicago -

For dinner:

I got:
2 cracker biscuits,
one tiny piece of cheese that tasted like soap,
& a little plastic glass of chemical tasting orange juice.

I forgot to add that aeroplanes are full of counterfeit parts.
That was a way to save money too.

It's not difficult to stave off turndown when the prior Government leaves you a war chest and Chiba buys resources.
