More insane spending on aborigines

Incredible nonsense.

Utterly insane.

$28 million.

All it needs is to identify the parents, and start making deductions from their dole cheques every time their kids don't turn up at school.

They should get the elders involved to help with truancy. Two elders and a minivan helped the schools in Aurukun immensely. I'd much rather see money going to people who need it than that going towards salaries of truancy officers.

The lunatics in Canberra really are now running the asylum.

Do you remember 10 years ago when the government tried to bribe the northern Aborigines with free petrol if they would only wash their very young children at least once a day?

And then we hear that school-time up there is being taken teaching the kids another aboriginal language ...

$28,000,000 could far better be spent developing a sustainable industry for providing the local Abo adults with a job.

Or ... for supplementing a decent wage for abos to work on the local farms, and cattle ranches, and fishing industries, etc etc.

$28,000,000 could also be used to pay the wages of those poor bastards or their progeny who were cheated out of their wages between the war years.

They don't have jobs now, because there are no machines or farms for them to work on.

I want to see the aborigines learn to walk before they can run. They need to learn the disciplines of the working life ~ from alarm clock in the morning to early-to-bed at night.

And no 'proactive' discrimination because of their colour and minority status. The UK is currently examining the appalling situation that has arisen in the hospitals and the retirement homes because minority ethnics were fast-forwarded into nursing and carer jobs to get them off the dole queues.

28 million wouldn't build a new prison. Might pay the staff wages bill for 6 months or so, that's about it. By the time an aboriginal person enters prison as an adult they have normally been in and out of juvy a number of times at a tremendous cost to the taxpayer. factor in court apperances , lawyers costs, cost to the community of anti social behaviour you might even be looking at a cost to the community of over 28 mil for each individual. This is a tiny investment considering the billions that have been spent on the aboriginal industry over the years and ended up paying for inflated salaries and brand new 4wd's for 'advisors".
