Labor fears Pink Batts inquiry findings

http://au.news.yahoo.com/qld/a/20444588/pink-batts-inquiry-set-to-begin/

A Royal Commission of Inquiry into deaths and injuries linked to the Rudd government's home insulation scheme will begin on Monday in Brisbane.

Four young men died while working on the roll-out of the so-called "pink batts" scheme set up in 2009.

Three of the men were Queenslanders Matthew Fuller, Rueben Barnes, Mitchell Sweeney and the fourth New South Welshman Marcus Wilson.

Their families believe the $2.8 billion program - implemented by then-prime minister Kevin Rudd to inject money into the economy during the global financial crisis - was rushed and lacked adequate safety standards.

The inquiry will also investigate the affect the program had on the reputation and profits of long-standing home insulation businesses.

Heading the Royal Commission is barrister and commercial dispute resolution practitioner Ian Hanger, QC.

Mr Hange has until June 30 next year to provide a report of his findings and recommendations.

witch-hunt until you find someone who'll rule in your favour?

Pathetic!

But it wasn't the answer you lot wanted to hear.

Hence, the witch-hunt.

Rubbish, cods.  There already have been a zillion Inquiries including several Inquests.  But......no worries, Abbott will go ahead with this, and we all know now what the outcome will be.

In all of political history, no Government has initiated a Royal Commission without first ensuring the outcome.  They decide the 'Terms of Reference,' they decide who leads it, and they decide who 'Counsel Assisting' will be.

The outcome will be..............no-one will be charged with any offence, just like the Cole Commission into the Building and Construction Industry which cost $70M (+-) and not one individual charged* (or relevant legislation) coming out of it. (*It was mooted some Union bloke who ignored a subpoena was to be charged, but I can't find any confirmation of that.)

Lawyers made zillions, Cole who made plus zillions truly retired, and then abrogated himself from his absurd conclusions with the pathetic 'who me?' excuse, "I am retired now."

....and the dumb thing is, not even political advantage was taken by Hayseed's mob.......probably because Alan Jones made many programmes condemning the Findings, describing the several Volumes as having best use as 'door stoppers.'

You need to understand that Royal Commissions are nothing more than money handed to lawyers to produce exactly what the payer wants.

Agreed, and it's sad that those for whom it was intended will either not read it, or not comprehend it if they do.

Labor fears Pink Batts inquiry findings

What the fourth or fifth enquiry - most likely the same result.

Nothing like the way the Liberals would justifiably fear an Iraq war enquiry.

The truth HAS 'come out'.

Several times.

You lot need to accept it, and STFU.

How anyone can justify this obvious and blatant witch-hunt is what's despicable.

A bald, ageing rock star might be able to provide a few documents to aid the Royal Commission.

I call bull$hit on that statement. When was Kevin Rudd ever the Prime Minister of Australia?
