Sorry I forgot you were residing in the looney left alternative universe, for your benefit I should have said ... The Rudd governments decision to enter the insulation market in order to placate non existent global warming and a non existent Australian financial crises was a brilliant idea even if it did kill four people, decimate the legitimate industry and burn down hundreds of homes and I feel we should do it all over again in a heart beat    Grin

There is media speculation as to whether Rudd and/or Garret have been subpoenaed.  Of greater interest to me is *who may have been advised by the Commission that adverse findings may be made against them.  *The most accurate, yet not bullet proof, way to determine that is to establish who has sought leave to be represented at the Commission.

Just saw a Ch. 9 News promo suggesting Rudd has been subpoenaed.  That News (in full) is ten minutes away.

Of no real relevance, unless he has also been notified.*

Interesting observation

(1) Pink Batts death were between 2009 and 2010
(2) Senior Ministers involved were Garrett, Gillard and Rudd
(3) Albo and Shorten were all major backers of Rudd and Gillard respectively
(4) Albo and Shorten are now in senior ALP positions

The ten terms of reference include:

- The process and basis of government decisions while establishing the program, including risk assessment and risk management;

- Whether the death of the four men could have been avoided;

- What if any advice or undertakings given by the government to the industry were inaccurate or deficient, and;

- What steps the government should have taken to avoid the tragedies.

If Mr Rudd is called it is almost certain that his then environment minister Peter Garrett will also be called to give evidence and former senator Mark Arbib who was parliamentary secretary to the minister and worked on designing and delivering the program.

Nah......the misleading schmedia arseholes refer only to 'calls' that he appear.  Geez, they sheet me.

I haven't looked.  Has anyone done a search to find out who sought leave to appear?

Seems the only promise Abbott can actually keep is to organise a political witch hunt.

Says a lot about the mans priorities for the country.

you have said plenty about other inquiries  that probably includes the coroners report,..but can you link up where Krudd or Garrett or Combet actually fronted one of these inquiries??? actually swore to tell the truth and nothing but the truth...amen..

this you see is what I see these families would like to happen!

have real people answering real questions...questions they have had in their hearts for 4 years.

that isnt a witch hunt...

it was a recommendation from the senate investigation????........ way back in 2010..A ROYAL COMMISSION..no ifs or buts..

None of “Garrett, Gillard and Rudd” are now in the Parliament. It won’t affect day to day politics.

One of the four installers that were killed went out and bought a metal stapler in place of the plastic one he was issued—faster. Whose fault was that?

The first installer to die was sent into a hot ceiling space by his boss who left him up there far too long. Whose fault was that? The other three all died in Queensland where regulations regarding electrical wiring have long been ignored. Whose fault was that? States had control of OH&S laws but were they vigorously enforced? Whose fault was that?

The program had many less fires per thousand installs than insulation retrofitted in the years up to the HIP. That sounds impressive. The industry is now better regulated, thanks to regulations Garret brought in at the start of the HIP—great! It is still one of the most dangerous of jobs in that most dangerous of industries—construction!

Now the Libs are playing on the feelings of those parents. After the many dollars have been paid to the RC and his council assisting, after the reams of paper—those four young men are still dead at the end of it. The parents will find the RC will bring none of the “closure” being talked about. It will not give them the vengeance that they really want either so what is the point of it?

The point of the RC is to be a unicorn—so as the economy keeps sinking into recession and even depression the stinking Libs can point and say—“Oh look, a unicorn over there!” A cruel deception of the four parents, but hey the Libs never do give a stuff about the damage they do.

Where a RC might be fruitful is the collapse of the brick wall built by a Grollo company—killed three people who just happened to be walking past it at the time.
