I agree with Aussie there.

Some of the linkages made on here are tenuous at best.

No Australians as a result of action.  Three died in 'accidents.'  Squillins of others of course.  But that has SFA to do with this Thread.

Why would you think that a future sewer dwelling government would not reciprocate the actions of this group of sewer dwellers ???

I would think that the possible direct results of this political witch hunt are valid to the topic.

the WAR IN AFGHANISTAN.....

2001/2007... 4 Australian soldiers die.. one  serving with the British forces.. serving their country

2008/2013.. 37 soldiers die...serving their country..

SO WHATS THE POINT YOU ARE TRYING TO MAKE HERE???? Angry Angry

WILL WE mention those poor souls that DIED at SEA during the years 2007/2013?????

will we have an INVESTIGATION into that DEBACLE as well???? Angry Angry

Questioning the reasons behind, benefit, relevance or necessity of this Inquiry is not enhanced by attacking the lack of Inquiry into Iraq, or any other matter.

Nobody is questioning the lack of other enquiries just pointing out that this politically generated witch hunt could conceivable result in others in the future.

Agree with that.  That 'tall glass of water' (as Karnal calls him) Mr Abbott has opened Pandora's Box.  The ALP have very long memories and one of the greatest political (and petty) motivators is revenge.

If this Commission burns Rudd and or Garrett and or the last Government the gloves will come off.  This is a first, a very bad precedent and when Government changes, you can rely on the ALP and its corporate memory to go after their opponents.

So it does not matter how many deaths our leader is responsible for as long as they are not Australians?

Seems funny that the same standard only applies to boat people when the conservatives are in government.[/quote]

ah that old acid stomach playing up again..

did we declare WAR on boat people.??? did they try to come in armed to the teeth...????????...thats strange..we usually  send armed men into battle with other armed men..

maybe not if the left are in govt..

they just invite them to come by unsafe boats and if you are lucky to get close.. then we will put you in camps that THEY claimed THEY would close.. but then found THEY  were in need of BUILDING more..

oh well in the strange world of Labor.. building detention centres helps with unemployment.. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

The righto's should be disappointed that the idiots they support have initiated a needless and useless expensive political witch hunt.

It seems that the Libs can not get past their opposition mentality and move into government mode. Probably part of the reason they have been clearly the worst new government in Australian history.

so did you have a nice Chrissy dna?? I do hope so.. though looks like you may have had a bit of indigestion..sorry.. but its till coming though loud a clear..

it isnt a witch hunt and thats cruel to those families who have asked for this. it isnt just about the Fed Govt its about the States as well..if your son was knocked down and killed by a motorist at least the driver would b e in court and charged with something.,..

these people have nothing..

I think its very offensive to those families to call it a witch hunt out of spitefulness..they dont deserve that,

It is the government using this as a political toy which is disrespectful and hurtful  to the families.

THEY HAVE ASKED FOR IT.. DNA EXPLAIN THAT?

Cods, exactly what is this 'justice' you refer to.  Put some body to that notion.  What is the practical, tangible thing you call 'justice' in this case?

grieving families are hardly the most suited to decide who does what ... they usually want answers that don't exist or revenge because they feel wronged. Its a normal part of grieving.

My grandmother was still calling for investigations 30yrs after her son was murdered, why because she couldn't accept the answers she was given .

Whilst it's perfectly natural, the politicians should not be using it for point scoring.
