Sharon aside,    ...it does seem astounding, that a very pre-eminent Orthodox Jewish Rabbi, has essentially publicly [if posthumously] sought to validate the claim of the most famous Jew in the history of the world.

A claim [about Jesus] that the Jewish faith have vehemently and categorically rejected, for millennia.

i.e.
Messianic Jewish Rabbi Kaduri is saying, to the world!, that he believes that the historic 'Jesus', is the Jewish messiah.
