I especially liked Bernardi's response when asked why he joined the liberal party

In response to my question of why he joined the Liberal Party, the MP blithely responded "I live in a Liberal seat so I had to be a member of the Liberal Party to get into Parliament. If I lived in a Labor seat I would have joined the Labor Party"

Can you even read? Cory never said that, he accused a fellow Liberal of having said that.

Ok, my mistake ... i misread that!

Fair enough, at least you can admit it, unlike Kat, who just ran off, when he was wrong the other day.

I still don't get the argument that aversion to homosexuality means that you really are one.

So you don't think that it's possible that some people just oppose things, without meaning that they are that thing themselves?

Of course it's possible.

Nobody has said anything to the contrary.

Pretty sure Bernadi's gay though.  Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Some people have said to the contrary though, I have seen some say that anyone so much against homosexuality must be homosexual themselves.

Why do you think that he is? He is married with two children and is masculine.

Of course Matty, how stupid are these leftards? Imagine thinking a masculine married man with kids could possibly be gay? And he's such a dish too.

I'm reading on here and other places that this book and other things show that Cory should not be in Parliament. Funny, these lefties don't seem to understand a thing called democracy - Cory was voted in by the Australian people. And on the same page, is Lee Rhiannon (and pretty much all of the greens, but her especially) too far to the left to be in Parliament??

I asked that question before but never got a reply, was Cory voted in or was he handed his senate seat by the liberal hierarchy?

He was number 1 on the Liberal ticket in South Australia and voted in by the electors.

his number means nothing to me ... either the public, or the party put him in .... which one.

The public.

Most of the guys Alan Jones meets in toilet blocks are married with children.

I will allow you to be the judge:

I said that Abbott's majority is bigger than the one that Rudd achieved in 2007. Kat said that that was a lie.

In your opinion. I think the same about the people of NSW who voted for Lee Rhiannon.

It is disgraceful and utterly reprehensible to make 'gayness' a focus for mockery. It's 2014 AD not BC.
But for Cory Bernardi I could make an exception.

The public.

I think the question would be better served by asking these:
1. Because the party decided he'd be 1 on the ticket and all above the line votes for liberals went to him?
2. was he parachuted into his seat?

I know both sides do this but it shows more closely where his support comes from.

Facts matter to some people and they can be persuaded by them. Novel concept.

edit: No, that wasn't a dig at Kat at all in case you read it that way, just an observation that some people hate facts that get in the way of their beliefs.
