Warren can get stuffed. Cory is a wonderful man who has the guts to stand up for his conservative Christian values. If only there were more like him in Parliament.

The world has moved on. Ultra conservative Christian doctrine is of little significance in our society today.

Bernardi can express his homophobic opinion, but his narrow views have no place in government policy implementation. It's likely Abbott supports his views, but even he's treading carefully on this issue.

Oh okay, since you disagree with Cory's values (values that I also hold) they have no place in government policy implementation?

And you have the cheek to wonder why most of us think you're an idiot?

I couldn't care less. I am a proud Christian conservative. To the left, anybody that opposes them is stupid. And whose majority was bigger? Rudd's in 2007 or Abbott's in 2013?

what has a bigger majority got to do with you being an idiot? Grin Grin

On another thread I pointed out that Abbott's majority was bigger than Rudd's. Kat said that that was a lie, and I asked him repeatedly how so, and he kept ignoring the question.

again, how is it in any way relevant to your defence of Kats comment that you are an idiot? are you simply trying to prove it for him?

It appears there is a problem with being gay, according to the op. If that's not the topic, then what is?

No, not at all.

The problem is that he's a lying hypocrite.

Nobody said there's something wrong with being gay.

Okay, so I'll ask again: what evidence is there that he is actually gay?

Bernadi is an extremist and hasn't learnt to keep his personal bias to himself. Of course some Christian values are essential in government to ensure we live in a civilised and compassionate society, but if the majority wanted us to regress 30 years by making homosexuality illegal and locking up gay males, Family First or the Christian Democratic Party would be running the country.

http://www.news.com.au/national/cor...at-over-gay-slur/story-fncynjr2-1226797226...

CONSERVATIVE Senator Cory Bernardi has engaged his lawyers over remarks reportedly made by his colleague Warren Entsch that he is "obsessed" with gay marriage.

What a hypocrite he is - he can attack whoever he wants, but needs a lawyer when attacked.

As I've said countless times - you can believe whatever you want, don't get upset if people call out more extreme views though!

If only Bernardi was a crazy muslim preacher from Lakemba that wanted to kill homos and blow up their kids, the left would have been fine with his opinion then.

How is he not a credible source?

it was a question, which considering Bernardi's outspoken opposition to homosexuality, is valid.

No one said there was anything wrong with the fact that he is gay. But if he is, and at the same time he speaks out against homosexuality, don't you think it's a good idea that the public should know exaclty who represents them?

So because you talk about something, now means you must be part of what you are talking about.

You seem eager to get to the bottom of this.

Did you read the OP?

It was a question: "Could this be the best kept secret in parliament.?"

Followed by:

"He who protests the loudest are the most likely to be guilty of what they protest against."
