The Nazi campaign against the Jews began in 1935 with the passage of the Nuremburg Laws, which stripped all Jews of German citizenship.

There were isolated cases of Jews having to wear identifying marks, either a yellow star or a white armband with the Star of David, before the war began.

But the star wasn't universally adopted till 1941.

If it's a photo of dead bodies that aren't soldiers or Soviet civilians then there's a 90% chance that the caption will claim that they're "Jews".
You'll find this happens even if the photo is of German civilians killed by Soviet troops during the last few months of the war.

Give it a hundred or two hundred years and the history books will be saying that the only thing the Nazi's were about was the eradication of Jews - that their primary aim was to kill Jews, that everything they did was to facilitate the death of Jews and that WW2 was only about their desire to kill Jews.
