How should the Muslim community tackle this issue Gandalf?
By acknowledging that it is a problem, then being proactive in identifying where it happens.
No argument.
And thank you gandalf for stating that.

Mosques and other islamic organizations need to work closely with authorities to help stamp it out.
But is any such action like that likely ???
...When mainstream moslems like Dr Ameer Ali make statements comparing Australian and ISLAMIC values, like this;
Quote:Australia a Muslim nation
October 08, 2006
AUSTRALIA is a Muslim nation, the head of Prime Minister John Howard's Muslim advisory board says.
Dr Ameer Ali says most Australians practise Muslim values but the Muslim community is being alienated and disadvantaged by Islamophobia.
Dr Ali said multiculturalism was Australia's destiny but Muslims, as latecomers, were being disadvantaged.

Google;
"Australia a Muslim nation" "Dr Ameer Ali"Do the words used by Dr Ameer Ali carry any suggestion that moslems have an introspective nature, and that moslems are willing to examine [critically], their own moslem cultural mores ?
Dictionary;
introspect = = examine one’s own thoughts or feelings.For myself, i do not believe, i cannot believe, that
moslems are willing to examine [critically], their own cultural mores.
Rather, there seems to be a conveyed suggestion by Dr Ameer Ali, that Australians and followers of ISLAM share a very similar morality, and that we all share very similar cultural mores ?
So, what is being conveyed [by people like by Dr Ameer Ali], is that there is no cause for the wider Australian community to be concerned about the cultural mores that are held by moslems.
But to me, in all of their communications with non-moslems,
moslems seem more desirous of deceiving non-moslems [and of repeatedly misrepresenting ISLAM to the wider non-moslem community], rather than being intent on speaking candidly and openly to their non-moslem hosts, about the nature of ISLAM and about the nature of the cultural mores which moslems do embrace.
Why am i wrong ?

At least in the form of words that Dr Ameer Ali used, he appears correct in one regard;
"...most Australians practise Muslim values..."
Many [modern] Australians are liars, and self deceivers, and we hate confronting what is true, about ourselves, imo.
Schapelle Corby, Simon Gittany, Tony Mokbel, and all of the Saturday night wanna-be street gangsters, et al.
Modern Australian society, is morphing into a criminal shi t hole, imo.
