Zionism is nationalistic. Judaism has rejected it since the diaspora.
That's a pretty broad statement FD. I know there is at least one loudmouth little cult of Jews, that proclaim themselves to be "orthodox", who rail against Zionism (Neturei Karta - many (most?) of whom live in New York and London), but I believe the majority of Jews both inside and outside of Israel favor Zionism. Even Christians anticipated the restoration of Jews to their land, through Bible prophecy, centuries before that restoration ever began to take place (perhaps better described as increase since they have always had some presence in Israel).
Thomas Brightman 1562-1607: "The restoring of the Jewes and their callinge to the faith of Christ after the utter overthrow of their three enemies is set forth in livelie colours."
"Shall they return to Jerusalem again?" "There is nothing more certain: the prophets do everywhere confirm it and beat upon it."John Owen 1616-1683: "The Jews shall be gathered from all parts of the earth where they are scattered, and brought home into their homeland."
http://www.zionismchristian.com/zionism_in_christianity.htmSo the question today, in light of the
historical reality of 6 million Jews ruling and reigning in Israel, with that tiny little piece of land having come from nothing 200 years ago, to becoming a geopolitical focus of the world today is:
Is the restoration of Jews to their land of the Lord or is it of Satan?
(I suppose another alternative that some would wish to believe is that it is some sort of a freaky historical accident). The scriptures describe one method by which we may be able to judge such a thing:
Mat 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Jews from all around the world are joined by evangelical Christians, in recognizing the restoration of Jews to their land is fulfillment of Bible prophecy, and thus of the Lord.
While anti-Zionists include Arnold Murray and his Serpent Seed cult, David Duke and the KKK, Jeremiah Wright, Ted Pike and the Presbyterian Church U.S. (as well as other liberal supersessionist churches), who are joined by Muslims from around the world, Louis Farrakan and the "Nation of Islam", and secular groups like communist Soviets, the United Nations, George Soros and his Center for American Progress, white supremacists, Nazis, skinheads, and anti-Semites of all stripes.
