I would suggest that if bumping is to be encouraged it should be restricted to, say, 1 bump every 10=15 minutes or so.

For some reason Aussie appears to have taken my comments on this situation as a personal attack. No attack was intended, I was simply stating my 2 penny's worth.

If you are happy to have the forum littered with countless bumps and grinds - its your choice and I am sorry I even mentioned it.

The problem will not "clear itself" after some time. Flat file "databases" do not take time to resolve things the way regular databases do. It is just a heap of files in a folder. The problem will only resolve itself after the correct number of bumps, or posts. You can tell how many are needed by the difference between your post number and the URL number you get redirected to.

You can hardly blame me for that given you singled me (and one other) out for specific mention even though many Members who are aware of the problem and of what freediver asked of us, have done exactly what I and that other have done.

Further, as you have now been told, it is not a 'time' issue.....it is a 'number of posts' issue before an effected page will flip.

As I posted in another Thread, this is a discussion/debate Forum which needs to move in real time, and not be like a game of Chess played by two blokes living on opposite sides of the Globe mailing their moves, one at a time, to each other.

Yeas mantra, a better, bigger more efficient server is the obvious answer and I have discussed that very issue with freediver.
