They actually can. Not only did both of the planes involved with WTC not exceed their maximum maneuvering speed but only their maximum operating speeds which is a limit to prevent over stressing of jet airframe.

It doesn't mean the aircraft can't go that fast or if they do, will instantly break up (as I've seen others claim).

It just means the airframe may be over stressed, which will compromise safety at some point in the future.

It's unlikely the hijackers were concerned about that.

Yes there might be some YouTube videos from pilots who make other claims, but look up the engineering information of these aircraft, not just the opinion of someone on YouTube that you agree with, who didn't offer any facts to back up their claims.

This is just typical of conspirotard thinking. I watched one video from a supposed pilot claiming that there werent even any planes at all and that they were just holograms because of course we have all seen repeated public use of high-speed massive-size perfect holograms in broad daylight in the sky. what an idiotic idea and yet, conspirotards believe it.

Ben Rich (I think that was his name) - head of Lockheed Martin "Skunk works" stated 20 years ago in a speech to his old college graduates. "We have the technology to travel to distant stars and take ET home" and "it would take an act of God for the public to ever see this technology". Interesting comments - he however said later that he was speaking "tongue in cheek".

The point I'm making is how do you know what is going in highly secure fields of research. Do you think you will see it on telly - 60 minutes perhaps or the SMH?

John Lear has a point and he should know.

Think about the exterior columns of the WTC's - 14" box columns and 2" thick high tensile steel. These columns are on 3' centers and braced every 10' vertically to concrete floors and trusses. Each column is 14" inches thick on edge and 2 " wide. An aircraft's wings is made of lightweight spars and ribs made to flex and covered with a 1mm thick layer of aluminium alloy.

What will survive a 500mph collision? It would be like a mower blade hitting a blade of grass except in reverse.
