More than 1,000 deaths under Labor obviously weren't enough for you Greenies to do something about it while wedded to Gillard...

And that is one huge sh1t sandwich the Greens and Labor leftards are gonna be chewing on for ever - geez it must suck when your whole team has had its head shoved down the toilet repeatedly - oh how the haters are hating now  Grin

Neither Labor nor the Greens are responsible for these deaths. Nor will their supporters accept
or acknowledge any culpability, as there is none.

If anyone is responsible, it's the Indonesians, for allowing them to depart in unseaworthy ships
and the Libs for refusing to accept that they are refugees, not terrorists after our Centrelink
benefits.

If what you say is true, then if a boat carrying 100 illegal immigrants sinks at sea tomorrow it will definitely not be Abbott's fault.

Boats sink all the time.

But, generally, the survivors are not abused, marginalised, and thrown
into concentration-camps.

And they are NOT 'illegal. This lie needs to be put to death once and for all.

Speaking of lies....  you do realise the idea for those "concentration camps" was Labor policy right?

No. It wasn't.

Labor had immigration centres.

The scum Howard turned them into concentration camps.

And then moved them offshore to avoid their illegality under Australian law.

Libs are racist, xenophobic criminals, nothing more.

You have NO moral high ground to take here, so don't bother to try.

Labor tried onshore processing and it was an abysmal failure. We ended up having 2-3 boats a DAY arriving at the height of the onshore processing farce. Onshore processing has been proven to not work - end of story.

Quote:
Keating Government

Mandatory detention laws were introduced in Australia by the Keating Labor government, with bipartisan support, in 1992. The legislation was proposed as a result of an influx of Vietnamese, Chinese, and Cambodian refugees over the previous few years. The legislation specifically disallowed judicial review, but did impose a 273 day limit on detention.

In 1994, the Keating government introduced new legislation called the Migration Reform Act 1992, broadening the application of mandatory detention to all who did not hold a valid visa, and removing the 273 day limit. The Act was designed to establish "a new visa system making a simple distinction between a ‘lawful’ and ‘unlawful’ non-citizen" and said that "a migration officer had an obligation to detain any person suspected of being unlawful."

Non-citizens in Australia without a valid visa were to be considered unlawful and would have to be held in detention, though those who met certain criteria and were not considered flight or security risks could secure lawful status by means of a bridging visa - but bridging visas would not be made available to those who arrived in Australia without visas in the first place (such as boat people). The government said that this was justifiable because visa overstayers had already submitted themselves to proper entry processing offshore and were therefore in a different category to those who had not and that boat arrivals had demonstrated a high likelihood of absconsion where detention was not in place. This was to remain the basis for Australia's system of mandatory detention throughout the subsequent Howard, and Rudd-Gillard Governments.

Let's hope there will be a full investigation into the riots, and the truth be told.

The fear is that our leftwing-dominated media will heavily censor a report that finds it has been the detainees who have been the perpetrators and the brutally violent ones.

It will be deemed by the luvvies to be 'unhelpful' to disclose such news to the public. They won't want to 'further prejudice' public opinion against these 'embattled victims of Abbott's cruel detention system'.

blah blah blah.

Just watch this space.

The apologists will come crawling out of the woodwork as always.

That's why Andrew Bolt, Piers Akerman, and Miranda Devine play a vital role in our news services. But for them we would all be kept in the dark by the latte luvvies.
