Yes, the offences occurred before he entered parliament. However, that is not the issue. The issue is Labor's behaviour in parliament when the now-proven allegations came to light. Once that lying excuse for a woman (Gillard) got that rat Slipper on her side, she discarded Thomson to the crossbench like last nights' dinner scraps. Thomson did, however, continue to vote with Labor, assuring Gillard stayed in office. I'd be interested to know what the deal was that was obviously made between Gillard and Thomson at the point when he was suspended from the ALP. After all, she did state numerous times that she had "full confidence in the member for Dobell".

Talking to a union repo today in a meeting break, his view is that anyone corrupt should get what they deserve and he wasn't worried about his union. His only concern was that it would be a bit of a distraction from their work.

Only Australian citizens and permanent residents can receive welfare payments from Centrelink, and illegal immigrants are certainly not entitled to such support.
