Tony Abbott has confirmed Australia’s $4bn purchase of eight new military aircraft, saying the defence of the nation was a government’s most important priority.

So we can't afford the nbn  Angry, we can't afford to fund medicare or our hospitals but we can afford 8 new military aircraft?

Budget Emergency, what Budget Emergency?

Now don't be like that - the Liberals are working very incompetently to create one for you and are almost certain to succeed.

I just heard Hockey on the radio preparing Australians for the end of the old age pension.
Yep...Abbott and Hockey are going to get their $500,000 per yr when they retire from politics but hard working Aussies who pay the bulk of the countries taxes and the pollies superannuation are going to be forced to work until they die.

Who voted for these morons?

Careful, friend....
You could be possibly straying into Operational Security matters here, and thus subject to a raid by armed Federal Police at any moment.

Cheesy

Trashing workers rights, destroying public health and education and now forcing Australians to work until they drop dead.
I wonder why they didn't mention any of this during the election?

They shouldn't have to. Those are their basic policies... the ones you take for granted and know they'll stick to.

The policies they state during an election are just stuff politicians tell us in the hope they'll get elected.

These planes were purchased by the previous labor governments, if the dopey leftists read your article the deal was done by labor.

Of course serious contracts have penalty clauses so backing out of the deal labor did was probably not a good option.

From your link-
Quote:
The Dudd governments 2009 defence white paper said the government would acquire 8 new aircraft to replace the Orion AP-3C fleet.

The Gillard governments 2013 defence paper confirmed Australia's intention to use P8A Poseidon aircraft complimented by unmanned aircraft

We are using the Israeli made Heron RPV  (Remote piloted vehicle or drone for the drongos)

Would you rather we go the way of the Kiwi's and dismantle the fighting arm of our air force, leaving the country very vulnerable?
