If you run a business and I'm your accountant and I tell you the books are in great shape and you go out to tell your investors that, only to find out that wasn't true, are you the liar, or me?

So the business owner hired a dodgy accountant and ended up in a financial mess, who should ultimately take responsibility for the consequences of the misleading information?

The hypocrisy is awesome.

Activist group GetUp organised the rallies and said hundreds more events were held in other cities and towns around the country, in what were also intended as protests against the Federal Government's asylum seeker policies.

A solitary Muslim queue-jumping economic migrant gets killed as a boat-person, and we witness the cynical Lefties holding political vigils all across the country with demands to have the current policies changed, but when hundreds drowned under 6 years of Labor rule ... not a peep out of these cynical manipulators.

These cretins are all about eventually getting a version of Social-Marxism to sit prominently in our Canberra parliament. That's their real agenda.

They couldn't give a monkey's nuts about someone dying in a riot, except for using it as a vehicle for propagandising against those who wish to preserve our nation from becoming a holus-bolus international dumping ground for people whose religion is inimical to our own cultural heritage.

Indeed herbert.
As a patriot , i want to see australia improve its herd.
We should invite people here , in the same way one conducts a "job interview"

What skills can you bring, show me your resume, whats on your CV, are you going to be a contributor.
They should be on "parole" before they are granted citizenship.

I am NOT advocating a white australia policy.

I know a lebanese widow who single handedly has opened 4 coffee shops in brisbane and is a multi millionaire. I would invite motivated, hard working , entrepreneurial people.

i would try and get high tech dudes from east asia, and scandinavia.
you could offer incentives for the right people (as Morrison is providing disincentives for the wrong people).

A queue jumper , has, by definition, shown himself to be a bribing criminal who puts his/her own interests above those of others (ie , he is the sort of bloke who would have jumped on a life boat on the titanic, infront of others). We do not want these sort of people here. We do not want selfish people in OZ.  We have enough of those already who wish only to take from the system and not give back.

So lets do some character assessment and get some "cream" candidates to come here and make this country great.

As you say, the greens and get up seem like anarchist nihilists to me and about 80 % of the population of "real" australia.

But you didn't know the accountant was dodgy when you hired him - he came with all the right references.

Improve its herd?

Are we all pigs to the 'patriot'?

That definition for some might be a suitable analogy for 'entrepreneurial people', (Kerry Packer even) particularly if the net result is a successful business.

Absurd analogy.  Morrison is a Minister of the Crown with serious responsibilities when it comes to truth, especially the truth about the circumstances in which a vulnerable person in his care is killed.  It was his job not to open his mouth and make bold assertions of fact unless he had made absolutely certain that what he was saying was the truth.

If he'd done that, you idiots would accuse him of secrecy and cover-ups. He can't win either way with you lot.

Not true.

All he had to say was that "a person has died and I am now investigating the circumstances surrounding that death.  The situation is presently unclear and as soon as I am able to verify basic facts, I will make a candid statement setting those facts out."

Everyone would accept that.  But instead, he said as a matter of established fact,  the person was injured outside the centre and he went even further by implying that because the person was out of the centre, he had brought about his own demise.  He was almost arrogant about that.

Wasn't silence his preferred option up till now with regard to asylum seekers?

Now, he's headed toward a 'children overboard' PR disaster...

He's proving he may be too ready to jump to a (dog whistling) conclusion.

Most here know I'm no fan of the Libs, but the posturing over this issue, from Labor, and the Greens, has been truly revolting.
I saw the new Labor guy trying to remember his script on the issue this morning, which left him looking unfit to criticise anyone else's ability or integrity.
While the Greens holding up photos of the dead man, with his name on them, in some attempt to declare him a martyr that the public rallies around, was even more sickening.

Greens claiming a moral high ground, is severely jeopardised when they run sensationalist stunts over individual deaths.
It's nearly as disturbing as all the bigoted Lib supporters pretending they only wanted to stop the boats to preserve lives at sea. Disingenuous hypocrites, the lot of 'em.

Do you believe Morrison ought resign, as is the usual expectation and outcome in precisely these circumstances under the Westminster System?

I'd like them ALL to resign.

But in answer to your question, I would not expect, or wish to see Morrison resign, unless it were demonstrated that the knowingly, and willfully misled the parliament.
Plenty of 'em have done that in their time, without resigning, so precedence is rather split on this issue, where it is mostly dependent upon fear of political backlash, rather than any sense of moral decency, or such.

Its the economy.
Hockey and the asians say we need to go for 3 % growth.
Get Up and the Greens want to sit at the table and enjoy the growth , but they dont want to do anything to contribute to it.
Smart countries know that this sort of growth only comes by improving the "people"  improving the "herd"
We can go the home grown route and we should but we need some "high end multi cultutalism"
Id throw open the welcome map to anyone from any country with the ability to convince a panel at the immigration department that they have the grit, guts, determination , drive and work ethic to be successful
I like indians (they speak english), asians (they work hard) and scandinavians ( they are smart)
Football clubs have talent scouts out searching for talent.
The immigration dept should be active in silicon valley, beijing, copenhagen and stockholm. they should be actively recruiting.

But haven't you and the other dolts been whining about Scott Morrison keeping you out of the loop Ozzie? You want the details as quickly as possible, and now you want it 100% accurate as well. Either you want accuracy or speed......which is it to be dipstick, if you want the news as it comes in then you have to be content with what is communicated at the time, accurate or not?

Now can you stop your whinging like that old goat Milne and Fishmouth Bowen, and just wait for information to be verified before spouting your fake and illogical concern.

You imagine that there's an embarrassment of riches with regard to geniuses all bashing down Australia's door to get in... Maybe the Indian, Asian and Scandinavian( ??? What? No German?) geniuses are bashing down America's door to get in.

And, by the way, your post denigrates our 'cultural credit card holders' - the convict (and probably about 80% of 19th century immigrants) who came to Australia poor and illiterate and, not necessarily, with the capacity to work their fingers to the bone to become rich.

Maybe you also denigrate the tens of thousands of (white) immigrants arriving during the 20th century.

Your Post... Animal Farm, much? Or maybe 1984?

There was no riot. ASs were dragged out from where they were hiding and beaten.

Scrot Morriscum should have said “I am advised. . .” He obviously was not so advised and lied.

Under the Westminster tradition of Ministerial Responsibility his only course now is to resign.
