As a patriot , i want to see australia improve its herd.

Improve its herd?

Are we all pigs to the 'patriot'?

aquascoot wrote on Feb 24th, 2014 at 7:50am:
A queue jumper , has, by definition, shown himself to be a bribing criminal who puts his/her own interests above those of others (ie , he is the sort of bloke who would have jumped on a life boat on the titanic, infront of others).

That definition for some might be a suitable analogy for 'entrepreneurial people', (Kerry Packer even) particularly if the net result is a successful business.

Its the economy.
Hockey and the asians say we need to go for 3 % growth.
Get Up and the Greens want to sit at the table and enjoy the growth , but they dont want to do anything to contribute to it.
Smart countries know that this sort of growth only comes by improving the "people"  improving the "herd"
We can go the home grown route and we should but we need some "high end multi cultutalism"
Id throw open the welcome map to anyone from any country with the ability to convince a panel at the immigration department that they have the grit, guts, determination , drive and work ethic to be successful
I like indians (they speak english), asians (they work hard) and scandinavians ( they are smart)
Football clubs have talent scouts out searching for talent.
The immigration dept should be active in silicon valley, beijing, copenhagen and stockholm. they should be actively recruiting.

Not pigs.....Winners Wink Wink

You imagine that there's an embarrassment of riches with regard to geniuses all bashing down Australia's door to get in... Maybe the Indian, Asian and Scandinavian( ??? What? No German?) geniuses are bashing down America's door to get in.

And, by the way, your post denigrates our 'cultural credit card holders' - the convict (and probably about 80% of 19th century immigrants) who came to Australia poor and illiterate and, not necessarily, with the capacity to work their fingers to the bone to become rich.

Maybe you also denigrate the tens of thousands of (white) immigrants arriving during the 20th century.

Your Post... Animal Farm, much? Or maybe 1984?

America has always been very welcoming to Ph D holders from all over the world to come work in silicon valley.
Down in Texas, they have citizens militia riding the boundaries at night to keep out the people who dont have Ph D's.

The Labor government under beattie bligh employed over 400 doctors to run the hospitals. talent stolen from thrid world countries.  "Get up " didnt seem to care 2 hoots.
I am advocating trying to attract talent from the richest end of town.

i do believe bob hawke introduced a scheme where migrants could come from asia if they were accompanied by a $1,000,000 bank account.

Brave new world , animal farm, much  from the lefties  Wink Wink

There was no riot. ASs were dragged out from where they were hiding and beaten.

Scrot Morriscum should have said “I am advised. . .” He obviously was not so advised and lied.

Under the Westminster tradition of Ministerial Responsibility his only course now is to resign.

Morrison was not there, so I think we can safely say it is implied that he is advised of events that occurred there. If you can't comprehend that, there's no hope for you...

Yes, they're good at that in the South...

citizens militia, eh? In the old days they called them lynch mobs.

BTW these lynch mobs 'citizens militia' are there to keep out 'non-whites'.

If you run a business and I'm your accountant and I tell you the books are in great shape and you go out to tell your investors that, only to find out that wasn't true, are you the liar, or me?

False analogy.

Businesses are governed by corporations law. Morrison is not.

This is my thought too.

I am not convinced that Morrison lied. For there to be a lie, there has to be (1) knowledge of the truth, and (2) an intent to deceive. Morrison was most likely misinformed. He was sloppy with the facts, but so far as I can tell he did not actually set out to deceive. Had he intended to deceive, he wouldn't have issued the correction.

The "lie" allegation is thrown around too freely.

Your logical fallacy is ad hominem

Quote:
You attacked your opponent's character or personal traits in an attempt to undermine their argument.

Ad hominem attacks can take the form of overtly attacking somebody, or more subtly casting doubt on their character or personal attributes as a way to discredit their argument. The result of an ad hom attack can be to undermine someone's case without actually having to engage with it.

Gillard only made one "mistake" too. She lost her job as PM. Should Morrison keep his job for one mistake when Gillard lost hers?

No, his first mistake was going into politics.

As has just about everything he's done since been a mistake.

Your mistake was in voting for and supporting him.

Couldn't reply to The Wise One

After a few words, my typing doesn't appear on his comment--

Anyway his advice to "sack Morrison"

Scott hadn't started the rioting in Manus Island - Not being Superman, he wasn't there and had to depend on those information of others who (no doubt) weren't there either.

Good sense would dictate that the staff at the detention centre wouldn't have started anything and if only one was killed, the agitators should count their blessings.

During years of Labor, thousands had drowned at sea and not even Sara (mis-justice) Hanson Young wept a tear for the many children who'd been fed to sharks under LABOR'S WATCH.

Shut up, the wise one!
