The case comes after a spate of turnbacks in recent months as the government ramped up the pressure on people smugglers and has not had a successful operation reach Australia since December 19.

So in other words, its not that boat numbers are down, its just we've changed the definitions a bit. If they don't reach Australian waters, they don't exist.

Who cares.
There not getting here and the smugglers no longer have a product to sell.
The governments policy works and that's what counts.

Surely though that depends on the message getting back to where the refugees come from

Well the Australian taxpayer isn't footing the bill for that as well.
After all, the country shoppers have a mobile phone.
And if the message doesn't get through that all illegal boat arrivals will never be resettled in Australia and that the passengers are being diddled out of 10 grand, that is hardly our problem.
And I doubt very much that the country shoppers won't be bleating like sheep calling home to tell the family where they ended up, and the family wont then tell another twenty people.

It will be interesting to see what happens when the cyclone season is over in April

Have you got a link to what you are saying that asylum seekers were abusing that locals on Manus Island or are you just treating asylum seekers like shyte again

I'm just treating the asylum seekers like shyte again.

However, here's the information you have asked for.

Quote:
"But one of the things Richard that we've found out is that people are telling us that some of the staff inside the asylum seeker camp, the Manus people, have been subjected to racial vilification on an ongoing basis from a number of the asylum seekers".

********

Quote:
Also that day, Mr Knight says, asylum seekers had intensified their verbal taunts against locally-employed guards, including threats to rape their mothers and sisters. This account has been backed up by other sources.

link

*********

Quote:
"One of the things we're being told is that people who are working at the centre have signed confidentiality clauses that they're not allowed to speak".

The luvvies and pro bonos have been desperately running around asking everyone to commit to a pact of silence. They don't want the Australian public to get a good grip on the fact that these Muslim ferals were racially abusing the local blacks, and were threatening to rape their mothers and wives.

Bad PR.

Wake up, wise one, and don't let yourself be a dupe and a Useful Idiot for the Muslim ferals and their socialist Australian helpers.

The story I heard was that G4S asked the locals to participate as back up when they went in. Yes they were being taunted by the refugees - but so what. They were being paid by us to maintain security in the compound and ensure the safety of the refugees.

There appears to be some support for Abbott's hardline stance - and that's a person's prerogative, but those cheering from the sidelines only comprise about 30% of the population.

We are not primitives and should be adhering to the international standards for human rights. Once we get used to this brutality and violence - it will become acceptable to treat people this way and this government will be no better than some brutal regime in a third world nation.

No one is born with any rights. Some humans starve as infants.
No one has any rights, only what others will give them.
illegals warrant being given nothing, they have already violated our laws.

Amen... !

Of COURSE we want to fast-track these Muslims to the Australian mainland so they can get nicely settled in here on a Benefit of some sort.

Does anyone know Morrison's email address?

I want to petition him to use his powers of 'Ministerial Discretion' to fast-track these gentlemen to come live with us and our mothers, wives, and daughters here in our nice, multicultural Australian suburbs.

Bravo, Morrison! Bravo! The ALP and Greens well and truly have a lot of egg on their faces. They had years to stop the boats, while Morrison managed to do it inside 3 months!!! You idiots in the ALP and Greens, along with the ABC and Fairfax media must be feeling incredibly stupid right now, and rightly so!!!  Grin Grin Grin

How does Morrison and all you libturd supporters feel by treating asylum seekers like a bit of shyte

They are human beings after all so how about treating them like human beings

When we have an asylum seeker turn up, I'll be happy to have them here. So when you see one, let me know. These country shoppers, however, can bugger off!

No, it's that they are being turned back and also fewer are making the journey.

Not only that...every turn back is an ultimate outcome of unlawful/illegal activity on the part of our Navy/Customs mob.

It's hardly illegal for our Navy/Customs to deny a vessel permission to enter our waters. The same thing has been done for decades by the USCG with regard to people coming from Cuba and no one has said that's illegal.

Its important that our navy is being used to tow boatloads of refugees around the seven seas while jobs and businesses in this country are falling over at an alarming rate.

Yep..Arsewipe Abbott sure has his priorities right  Grin

Okay, lets put this into perspective. When the Pacific Solution was dismantled by Rudd in 2008, there was only 6-10 detainees in detention and the annual cost of that policy was less than $100m. Fast forward to the last days of the Rudd 2.0 government and the annual cost had blown out to more than $1.5bn with more than 50,000 arrivals. So firstly, Abbott has no choice but to continue spending vast sums of money to process the detainees that remain as a reminder of one of the biggest policy failures of any government in our history. Secondly, and most importantly, just what is the Navy supposed to do to save Australian jobs? Perhaps if they weren't so busy cleaning up Rudd and Gillard's mess, they would have less work to do (meaning less expense to taxpayers) and the budget for this policy can be wound down and taxpayer funds put into other projects that will have more benefit to taxpayers. I'd love to know the annual bill for paying Centrelink benefits to those illegal immigrants that Gillard released into the community!

Thats because you weren't listening.

Greens oppose the boats as much as anyone. They wanted them stopped, they wanted the smuggling trade broken - they just refused to support punitive measures against asylum seekers to achieve it. The Greens released a policy of ferrying asylum seekers by plane before they got on to boats - and this policy was even copied by Clive Palmer.

If the Greens policy was implemented, boats would have stopped overnight. We also wouldn't be wasting billions every year on offshore detention centres, and we wouldn't be seeing asylum seekers being murdered by people we outsource these detention centres out too.

That's wrong and you know it. The Greens, in all their lunacy, wanted (and got) onshore processing. It was an unmitigated disaster. Labor went from dealing with four or five boats a week (still bad) to seeing 2 and sometimes 3 boats arriving each day when onshore processing and releasing detainees into the community came into being. It did absolutely NOTHING to deter people smugglers or their human cargo - it simply encouraged them to send more.

I was one of those migrants, herbie, and Woodside Immigration Camp was pretty grim. However, we dreamed of the day we would own our own house.

The ASs have no idea if they will ever get out of Manus Is camp.

BTW, terms like “economic migrants” are not worthy of you—you are using euphemisms so you don’t have to think of the ASs as people and families. Some fanbois call them “country shopping economic migrants” and that double euphemism is pretty revealing.

If these country shoppers didn't skip past countries where they would be safe and are signatories to the UNHCR, then I'd give some weight to their claim for asylum. But since they do skip those countries and are hellbent on coming here, you'll have to excuse me for not taking their asylum claim seriously one little bit.

You ain’t no christian.

In any case, wise to wait a year or two before coming to conclusions.

The ABC and Fairfax are also licking their wounds, having been highly critical of Abbott's plan pre-election. So you're not alone - you're in good (bad) company!

Sprint is another non–christian.

BTW sprint—there is no such thing as “illegals.”

Correct.

Please take notice, Sprint, that unlawful immigrants are called 'Illegals' - with a capital 'I'.

Every boat-person whose claim for asylum as a 'refugee' is found to be based upon fraud, deceit, and outright lies is, per se, an 'Illegal' - or, an illegal migrant.

George and I have your best interests at heart when we strive to keep you informed on these matters.

Enjoy the rest of your evening.  Smiley

So 1 in 10 is an illegal immigrant on claim being rejected, yet you label all asylum seekers the same?  Id suggest that says a lot about u.

Most are approved simply because it's far too difficult to confirm their true identity. Why? Because they throw their passports and other identifying documents overboard, documents our authorities would use to identify them and assess their claim for asylum. So please don't say most of them are genuine refugees because that is simply not the case. They're getting a free pass because they're doing the wrong thing.

The boats have stopped. Can you imagine the pile-up of Economic-Migrants still coming off the 'Air Boat-People' planes in Indonesia?

Like a traffic jam during the peak hour. All concertining into the back of one another in the lengthening queue. Threatening each other with rape of their mothers, wives and daughters if they don't hurry along.

The ALP, Greens and their supporters are livid that Morrison has done what they couldn't/wouldn't do - stop the boats. Not only has he stopped the boats, he's managed to do it inside 3 months when Labor had well over 5 years to do it. That's an almighty back-handed slap in the face to the Leftards by Morrison!!!  Grin Grin Grin

I believe members of the Labor Party have been racially abusing Morrison and threatening to rape his mother, wife and daughter.  Cool
