Is Abbott responsible for these deaths?
Mar 1st, 2014 at 5:54pm

Well ....40 dead Aussies and more than 200 badly wounded in the Afghanistan conflict so because Howard and Abbott chose to invade and put our men and women in danger they should be held accountable for these deaths and injuries.

The Taliban and terrorists will be back in control of Afghanistan very soon so all these dead and wounded will have amounted to nothing.....Abbott needs to man up and apologise to the families of these dead and wounded.

That's twice I've seen that today.

Abbott, man up?

You've got to be kidding.

You'd have a better chance of seeing this guy man up:

What about Elmer Rudd and Big Butt Gillard? They were in charge for 6 years of the Afghan war. I agree though, what a waste. I would be overtaken by guilt if I sent young men off to die. These politicians seem to forget about the deaths pretty easily.

Better still, resign before his one and only term is up.

Feel free to post on topic as opposed to slinging crap at each other please.

Yeah, right. Abbott has about as much to do with our troops being in Afghanistan as I do. The withdrawal of our troops began prior to the election. He is presiding over the draw-down of our forces there, ergo he has zero to do with what has happened in Afghanistan during the last 6 years. I'd advise you to direct your enquiries to the incompetent and deceitful offices of Rudd, Gillard & Rudd 2.0 instead!

It's not that easy. It took nearly a dozen flights of C-17 aircraft to get out most (not all) of the equipment used in-theatre. It actually takes a lot of time to plan and carry out the withdrawal - they don't just get up and say, "okay boys, lets go hop on the plane and get out of here!".
