Is there an easier way to do that than manually deleting the unnecessary text? I only attempt that when the allowed number of characters runs out, but it can be a frustrating exercise. If you mess it up by a single character, the entire thing becomes gibberish. Sad

Yes - there's a very easy way to do it. When you reply to a thread and the Post Reply box comes up - scroll down the page to the post you want to reply to.

Highlight the whole or part of the post you want to quote and then click on the little box called "mark and quote" on the top left hand side of the same post. You'll see it next to the poster's nick

It will then appear in the Post Reply without all the accompanying rubbish.

Thanks. Smiley

There are some whose posts only warrant and/or deserve a one-liner in response, if that.

And that's all they'll continue to get, from me anyway.

I prefer simplicity, if calling you a dickhead requires one line, I'm going to use one line. Would you prefer me be I am the light, who uses 20 lines but says zero of any intellectual substance?

In a time of universal deceit — telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

No evidence whatsoever it can be attributed to George Orwell or Eric Arthur Blair (in fact the same guy)

There's nothing wrong with a one-line comment as long as it doesn't turn into a serial one-liner contest of insults and abuse.

Worse than just a one liner is a quote of a dozen or so posts followed by a one liner.

Yes. I mentioned this weeks ago. It's irritating to look at, and it's just bone-bloody-laziness that they can't be bothered to isolate the latest quote.

mantra wrote on Mar 10th, 2014 at 8:01am:
By the time you scroll through these massive quotes to find the new post - there's only a few insulting words.

Grin Grin Grin

I shouldn't laugh. It's like the birthday presents my elder brothers used to give me ~ 10 minutes of Sellotaped unwrappable wrapping paper to undo, only to find a small bag of peanuts in the middle of it all ...

mantra wrote on Mar 10th, 2014 at 8:01am:
What a waste of cyber space. It's laziness on the part of the poster not to sift out the post they're actually responding to and only quote that.

How about we have a SHAME! thread here ~ like stocks in the market place in medieval times?

Any one of us can enter a name in the file with their latest offence. (Yes, I know, I'll be there for some of my erraticisms, but that's democracy for you).

"John Doe in the stocks for committing more than two one-liner graffitis in a row".

Smiley

I second the motion  Wink
