Why the hell would anyone want to get married.
Gay or straight, its a stupid idea.

That's the wrong question. Gay or straight, stupid or not, it should be their choice. Mine has been great, 30 years in April, although I acknowledge the success rate is not good over all.

There is already marriage equality - those who are entitled to marry may do so - those who are not may not.

Pretty simple....

Now gimme some screeching of 'homophobe' etc.  Any discussion of homosexuality etc is not worth the internet it's written on without some good old-fashioned slagging...

Marriage equality is just a fig leaf issue so the Greens can look all progressive when in fact they are conservative. Dealing with Abbott to bring in an unaffordable PPL scheme that values some babies more than most is just the first betrayal of the progressive cause.

I think people that love each other should be able to have the relationship recognised. Why not?

Well - I've already stated that since the concept of gay marriage does not produce harm - then there is no real reason to refuse it - and frankly I couldn't give a rat's one way or the other.

Happiness is hard enough to find in this dark world, and if some can find it with a marriage - then all power to them.

On the Greens - you are so right - it is sickening to see the prurient self-interest shown by politicians when it comes down to it - and how anyone can say that one baby - of an already well-off couple - is better in dollar terms than the child of a poor and single mother is beyond me.

Shows clearly what these people really mean - they are the overlords - the rest are scum.

THAT is why we need to get rid of the lot of them.

You are correct Andrei - it is only 'entertainment' and should never be taken seriously in terms of social issues.

FCS - did anyone take Fantasy Island as being a real thing?

It's ENTERTAINMENT - like watching Rambo kill 5000 Filipinos with the arsebone of a Jew - and if it makes you think about an issue - that's a bonus.

The Guardian, Tasmania election -

"Not a brilliant night for the Greens, mind. The party’s vote has dipped by 8%, only slightly less than Labor’s loss."

Another election with a drop in the vote woody?
Becoming a bit of a habit isn't it? Smiley

It's understandable Tasmanians were duped by the conservatives. Promised the world and then ... the reality sets in afterwards that the promises will not be filled. Look how much polls have crashed for federal conservatives because Abbott has procrastination since.

Party hard cons until the three year hangover kicks in.

Greens threaten the logging industry.

Threaten peoples livelihoods woody and they turn on you.

Lesson in reality. Money and security comes first in a family home.

Greens are not opposed to logging, just logging old growth forests.

The only reason cons want to destroy old growth forests is because plantation forests are not a sustainable business.

Tas cons should be ashamed of themselves for trying to prop up failing businesses when federally, cons they let them crash.

State cons are a disgrace to the con cause.

Or maybe taswegians have finally realised the living in a rust-belt welfare state prolly isn't doing them  much good.

Or they wanted to be like Queensland mostly free (except for one useless idiot) lying scumbag greens selling out the environment for cheap votes.

Or the greens talked a big game but failed to acheive the competence of the ball boy

There will be thousands of reasons why the greens got told to p1ss off, each one as valid as the next.

If that was true then why the diff between S.A and Tas. More likely the reason is the grass is greener syndrome and soon the reality will kick in that the new government is not meeting the expectations.

Remember cons promised a soon booming economy with full employment and no state debt.

One thing to promise the world, another to deliver.

Depends on the result of the 25 members and those results are not in yet. Then we can work out the members stances.
