McDonald and Obeid were rightly prosecuted for corrupt practices to enrich themselves.
Looks like Sinodinos may soon join them. Allegations about him have been floating around for some time.
I do not tolerate corruption from our political representatives no matter what party they represent. All corrupt politicians should be investigated, tried, jailed and stripped of all profits made.
Well no they haven't that is a lie.
Well yes they have you are wrong.
Don’t throw Arthur Sinodinos out with the Obeid bath-water (March 1,
2013)
Quote:In the current climate in NSW, where the Obeids are presumed guilty of everything, it is clearly not considered safe for politicians or even ex-politicians to be in business with them.
Especially as it appears Senator Sinodinos was still involved in [AWH], opening its Newcastle offices in July 2012, during his time in the Senate. Just a couple of months prior to being appointed Shadow Parliamentary Secretary to the Leader of the Opposition. While Sinodinos has done nothing wrong that we can see, he has had reportedly had many sleepless nights about what the political impact of his business dealings might be.
Quote:The NSW Premier O’Farrell seems like a fairly decent man, most of the time, but his willingness to use ICAC to damage his political opponents in a guilt-by-association exercise has been a mistake. Labor certainly can use Sinodinos as a rebuttal to suggestions that Obeids’ activities reflect badly on the ALP exclusively.
Sinodinos has close business links to Obeid, and it is difficult to assert that Sinodinos' business dealings with Obeid must have remained completely clean despite this close association. Any allegations about Sinodinos are little more than rumours at this stage, but it is not tenable to assert that they do not exist and haven't for some time.
Nevertheless, I'll repeat my previous point here - Sinodinos has not been charged with anything, and even if he is, he is entitled to the presumption of innocence. This is much better than the treatment that Obeid has received in the media.
