Is Abbott Shortening Your Life?

Abbott's denial of AGW, and so his denial of the requirement to shift from air polluting fossil fuels shortening your life expectancy?

Time for Australia to embrace 100% green renewable energy target and if cons fight this, they will have even more blood on their hands.

Air pollution killing seven million a year

The World Health Organisation says an estimated seven million people died as a result of air pollution in 2012.

This finding more than doubles previous estimates and confirms that air pollution is now the world's largest single environmental health risk and the cause of one-in-eight deaths globally.

In particular, the new data reveal a stronger link between both indoor and outdoor air pollution exposure and cardiovascular diseases, such as strokes and heart disease, as well as between air pollution and cancer. That's in addition to air pollution's role in the development of respiratory diseases, including acute respiratory infections and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases.

We are not paying a carbon tax. Some of the bigger polluters of our air are paying a levy so to kill us early.

Abbott wants this polluting done for no cost to the polluters and all the cost carried by the rest of us.

Meanwhile, the carbon levy (not a tax) is one of the first steps, a 100% renewable target is the next.

This is why the Greens will never be supported by anyone with any common sense what so ever.....Renewable energy cannot provide the base load power at an affordable price to drive industry and investment in this vast country.....Our exports would plummet and unemployment would spiral out of control.....Tony Abbott is correct to ensure Australia remains competitive in a world that must act together to achieve any meaningful reduction in Greenhouse gas emissions.....However Abbott is wrong not to move towards an ETS which will provide the revenue required to drive investment in renewable energy whilst remaining competitive in a world ruled by greed and self interest!!!

Greens, I thought the "shorten-ing" was some sort of clever pun on the leader of the opposition.

The European greens seem to have some political clout.
Why don't the Australian greens ?
Apart from disrupting the mandate tony got to get rid of the carbon and mining taxes, what useful role do green senators fill in society.
Im at a loss to see why the taxpayers should pay good money to be chastised by people of low social intelligence like the green senators.
We should pass a bill, when we get control of the upper house, calling for all green senators to join the green army and put something back into this fine country of ours.
