Back to topic, it's very likely that Newman will lose his seat, and a lot of backbenchers with him. A lot of backbenchers will be starting to get worried because there's no way they will all retain their seats.

I expect backtracking on some more of the controversial decisions of his government to shore up some support. Too little too late.

I still expect the government to win a second term, but not led by Newman.

Yep...maybe one more term cut short by infighting...if the LNP do scrape by in Queensland it will be the last time they govern for at least 20 yrs.

I did get an email from Kate Jones asking for a donation towards her campaign to get Newman tossed out....so yes given the lies and deception both Newman and his hero Abbott used to grab power Im donating to her campaign.

QLD is getting their own ICAC.

May all respective chickens come home to roost.  Give 'em hell.

Not in the least.  I wish it extended towards all QLD politicians and not just the Newman Government however.

This is absolutely being done for the wrong reasons, but I will always welcome things like this.

Greens, Labour, PUP 38 Senators, out of 72 senators.

Clive should not count his chickens till they vote!

DaS, you really are pretty naive about some stuff.  There is no vote.  There will be an Inquiry, witnesses compelled, and documents compelled into production, and then a Report.  The Inquiry is made by a Committee in this case led by Lazarus, with two ALP, one LNP and one Green Senator (I think that is the correct make-up.)

I love the way Brandis lost his temper over this in the Senate today.  Karma buddy ~ karma is a bitch.

There is no Bill.  There is simply a Motion moved and voted in favour of in the Senate.  That is all which is required to set the Inquiry up.

Yeehah!  PUP gets its act together and there will be a broad Senate Inquiry into Newman's Government.  Report timed to come out just before next year's election.  I'm pleased.  It not only gets right under Newman's skin, it tells Abbott that now he has opened Pandoras Box with his insulation and union Royal Commissions, it is a two way street.

I am also really looking forward to learning what led up to Tim Carmody's appointment as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Queensland when he occupied the low rank as mere Chief Magistrate. His twinkie will be twinking.  Good old Jarrod Bleije and his bikie laws.  Of course, Clive will be after blood on how the Government gave Gina the railway rights from the coal fields to the Port.

Oh, how very jolly it all will be!

This is beautiful, just beautiful  Smiley
