Well done Peter Garrett on your quest to protect whales in the antarctic waters.

I am sure the parents of the 4 young men that died in roof cavities will agree with you.

You are a boring broken record.

What are you going to do if the RC doesn't give you the outcome you continue to search for?

Screech loudly for another.

And another. And another.

This until she/they get the result they demand, regardless of its truth.

Garret was a huge disappointment to people like myself.  We had hoped that a vocal activist might put the cat among the pigeons, but he wasn't just a sell-out; he was an abject failure in that regard.  And he was a pretty lousy minister in general as well.

Perhaps future activists might consider adding competence and experience to their CV before diving into the fray.

Well done to the LEGAL TEAM. Gawd, the Garrett had SFA to do with this legal challenge besides him and Rudd initiating the legal challenge. They had nothing whatsoever to do with the actual legal work done in the court.

he could be standing on a rock alongside Booby Brown and waving a flag at the whalers...LOLOLOL..

Thats rubbish.  Activists do bugger all except make noise.  To make any real change, you need to join the system and work piece, by small piece, to make change.

Anyone disappointed by Garrett expecting him to be an activists once in government is a fool.

This is such a stupid point of view.  Plenty of people die every year on government worksites or under government contracts.   Plenty get killed by wars our governments get led into.

As the fire data shows, 4 may have died, 40 were probably saved.

Either way, inconsequential compared to other deaths.

So Tony & Scott actually have nothing to do with Stopping the Boats??

They do no actual leg work, hell Manus wasn't even initiated by them.

They have already been arrested, charged & probably have served their time.

I know & agree, corporate crime does pay rather handsomely, murder someone through negligence & only receive fines or short minimum security sentences, you get longer for killing someone in a car accident.

WELL, you could say that with a HOST of things
But a LEGAL TEAM can only act on - and is
only as GOOD as
the BRIEF it has been given

... at the time
Garrett
COMMENCED these proceedings, the
Abbott opposition
had a policy of NOT going down this path - yet taunted the
Rudd Government
to DO so

DOUBTLESS,
the Abbott
and
the Hunt
will claim the glory for this result on "the home front" - and quietly apologise to
"our best friend" - JAPAN
- as being the work of that nasty
Rudd Government

You need to need to work within the system while not becoming a part of the system's values.  He was a disappointment because he achieved next to nothing.  That massive-ego Rudd was probably the biggest problem, but it remains true that Garrett achieved very, very little for the environment and there are many coalition Environment ministers who have done far more which is not a great statement in his support.

What a success story Peter Garrett has been in politics.

That's right, son. He managed to get to a polling station and vote.

Wait, you forgot about Thomo.

Excuse me, I'll have you know Craig Thomson is still innocent until proven guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt.
