Interesting that the topic is gullibility and the usual trolls came in with the abuse as if an attack were being made on them.

The irony is just wonderful.

I won't be letting Quantum forget this one for a long time.

(I may write a review about it, on Amazon.com)

Well done on demonstrating yet again the paucity of your debating style by using a deflection. And your case was weakened pretty substantially by denying His existence in the first place. So far, you are not doing real well at this.

The title of this thread is: "How gullible are some people?"

My answer is: "Very".

Exhibit A:

"His existence is beyond doubt. There is far more evidence for Jesus' existence than most figures of antiquity."

Then why don't you cite references to support your position?

Doesn't work that way, old chum.

You are the one claiming that Jesus Christ existed: it's up to you to provide evidence.

However, I can play your childish game if you wish ...

The world was created by an invisible purple unicorn that lives at the bottom of my garden.

You think I'm wrong?  Well, in that case, why don't you cite references to support your position?

Smiley

It would be quite easy to do, but the problem is ...

" ... I can't do it."

That's all you had to say.

No need to lie among friends.

God bless you (or Jesus, or whatever fictional character it is that you follow).

Love to chat, but I have some book reviews to do for Amazon.

Cheers.

There are few more lame or self-defeating actions in a debate than to misquote or quote out of context your opponent.  It is completely in line with my claim that you are debating well outside your division.

Debating 101. I began with the well-established de facto position. You are the interloper claiming it is wrong. You are required by any rules of reasonable debate to substantiate your claim in at least prima facie fashion to avoid pointless argument of the already proven.

Now when you can come up with a prima facie argument then we can start.  In the meantime you just look under-prepared and certainly, under-informed.

Incorrect.

You are claiming that Jesus Christ was a real person.

Now, you need to substantiate that claim.

Good luck with that, by the way.

Like I said, come up with a  prima facie claim to support your contention and you might get a hearing.  You could also try and substantiate that Plato, Confucious or Julius Caesar were real people.  Good luck with that.

I expected more from you, but being disappointed in lesser debaters is not a rare thing.

I have nothing to prove: you do.

You need to prove that JC was an actual person.  That he actually existed.

(You're not very good at this)

Actually, I am very good at this which is why you are on the back foot and struggling.  You made the claim, contrary to established doctrine, therefore the responsibility is on you to support that claim, something you appear unable to do.  Debating 101.  Work the problem, not jump up and down and shout 'unfair'.

There are some so gullible, that they believe Jesus Christ actually existed 2000 years ago.

Not only that, they also believe that he rose from the dead.

Yeah, I know!  Pretty gullible, huh?   Roll Eyes

His existence is beyond doubt. There is far more evidence for Jesus' existence than most figures of antiquity.  But feel free to cling to your delusion if you must.

ohh, I can't wait ... please share this evidence?

Bandb started the thread to imply it was a given that jebus was well known to be real and the son of god... But he doesn't even believe it himself otherwise he would have read the book where his teachings are found and it's obvious he didn't do that because bandb is argumentative!

Bandb has no faith!!

No, you're very, very bad at it.

Moreover, I'm sitting back relaxing.  No back foot shenanigans here: I have nothing to prove.

I'm not claiming that some 'thing' exists (or existed).

You, however, are.

The problem is, you can't substantiate your claim.
