Taxi driver charged over alleged rape of girl, 10

A 10-year-old girl with profound hearing difficulties was allegedly raped several times by a cab driver hired to take her to school.

Sydney police charged the 64-year-old on Tuesday morning with eight sexual assault offences, including two counts of aggravated sexual intercourse with a physically impaired child 10-14 years old, after investigating allegations from late 2013.

No mention of racial identity and no name even though they do have this information.

Usually if its a white perpetrator the identity will be released quick smart along with photos.

INteresting that you're accusing the media of covering up the nationality of the Sydney taxi driver when you've listed other articles where they've listed the nationality. The only reason they havent here is to protect the girl. It is the usual case of events not to name anyone or even nationality of anyone involved in these cases because it may identify the victim who is underage and intellectually impaired. I hope this taxi driver gets whats coming to him, I also think its shameful that Taipan is using this to push his tiresome anti-immigrant agenda.

I get so angry the things happening to children today are getting worse not better.. we cant protect them 24/7.. but we can dish out longer penalties...

when a judge says something like..I wont send them to jail...I am sure they wont do it again.. I could scream...

is that supposed to make the person they violated feel better?????

When it comes to high profile crimes, such as this one or the ongoing saga of shootings in Sydney or a series of rapes, I can't see why we should not be entitled to a racial profile.
How can the public be properly informed about the effectiveness of immigrant or refugee screening if this information is to be deliberately withheld from us?
Maybe you believe there should be no public awareness of racial crime profile, whether it's black, white or anything else.
In my view there is far too much withholding of identities in criminal matters. It should not be beyond the capacity of justice authorities to protect the identities of victims while allowing the public to see who is being charged with heinous offences.

The police know who he is, and he's already been charged.

If he was on the run, I could understand (and share) your concern.

it is a male thing.after all..and most paedophiles get away with no identification at all...and thats what this guy is.. a paedo.... like murderer what difference does it make what colour he is...

if they are looking for someone I get it..but if they have him... well I dont know...what good it does.
