Sounds like has hasn't a leg to stand on if they match.. if they match...

If he's guilty I say - against all my principles - bring back the death penalty.

It's been so long now that a sudden change of heart on that issue in a real case might just deter a few out there.

It used to be argued that some rapists would kill their victim to increase their chances of not getting caught, but ever since DNA became a forensic tool it no longer matters if the victim is dead or alive.

In a great many cases the perp's DNA is already on record ... or will be for a Cold Case to later match up.
