To be honest, I didn't even know you got booted. That must have been someone who simply does not do intellectual humour that booted you.

As to the spam thread, "spammed bunkum" may well be offensive to both spam and bunkum...

And, I suspect "unmoderated" because no one has (presently at least) effectively approached the moderators.

Which it seems is the standard that is set here. Ergo, no complaint, no moderation.

Which, therefore raises the question, are you complaining? I only ask to help clarify.

Yup, the NBN thread is spoiled by trolls like longweekend and roach.

Neither EVER engage in talk on the NBN or ICT more generally. First was roach pretending I had said telehealth involved diagnosis tho I had actually disclaimed that in one of my posts in the cesspit that roach linked. Then two posts by the same idiot were said to be by roach “more people. . . .”

Then he fell back on “IT changes quickly, we shouldn’t put all our eggs in the one FTTH basket” and this he eventually admitted meant wireless broadband. NO IT–savvy person would think even for a second that wireless could ever carry the bulk of the data—just not enough spectrum so too much contention etc.

Longweekend just says I want 4K TV and to play multiuser computer games. Wrong on both counts. He has NEVER argued the NBN in any real ACT way.

I no longer bother to comment on the subject, there are simply too many who think being able to turn a PC on and load a chat-forum makes them some kind of expert.

There was a poster, NBN Myths, who had a very good handle on what the NBN is all about, he was basically howled off the board by the above-mentioned so-called experts.

And I, also, with IT quals and thirty years experience, was told I 'know nothing'.

So why bother?

No point bothering now the Libs have killed the NBN.

I never claimed IT qualifications BTW, but did lots of reading. I did get a smidge of actual experience in IT in my businesses including setting up a multiuser database involving three workstations entering data into the database and updating the website for my home brew shop. That is all I ever claimed.

The bullies are slowly being weeded out from what I've noticed lately.

There are probably less than a handful left now, but they've become less aggressive. Just ignore them if they haven't got anything relevant to say.

The NBN Progress thread has been running for 6 months now.  There is a wealth of information contained in it that has probably informed many that only had knowledge about NBN as a political football and had (previously) little or no knowledge about either the politics or the technology involved.

Some. of course, argued from their rusted on political party beliefs, others argued from their technical knowledge and research.  In a political forum such as this, both sides should be heard.  Overall, it has been one of the best threads here (IMHO).

Sadly, in the last few weeks one person is attempting to start a flame war that is totally unrelated to the NBN and even states that some of his antagonism is imported from another forum.

I am surprised that there has been no moderator intervention, but if that takes a complaint from a member to do so, please let me know how to make a complaint as there is no instruction as to how to do so.

I believe we are now doing that complaint... possibly not through official enough channels but who cares meh  Cool

It's the feedback thread and this forum is staking its own credibility against a piss poor one so once again, who cares meh!!  Roll Eyes

DRAH

I prefer to offer my feedback in a civil way and without unnecessary expletives.  I would appreciate if you didn't piggyback your coarse comments on mine.

Much appreciated.
